Some high school fan, and all of the Reds who had an even poorer view of the net started a campaign to take a goal away from an over 60, bad legged, fun loving Duffer.  This game would not be decided until the beers were poured at Bono's.  Harvey added to the confusion with a goal that he tipped in with a high stick.  Now the Reds had some bargaining power in the negotiations at the bar.  Tweedy offered to allow Hacksaw's goal if we counted Harvey's goal.  No one wants to deprive Harvey of a goal since he is an over 60, dancing, fun loving Duffer, but then again, that would be the Meaningful winner.  The White negotiators offered to count Harvey's high stick goal if Papa Joe's goal was disallowed for excessive celebration. The Reds agreed.  Meaningful game was declared a 2-2 tie.

This is the 300th issue of the Duffer News.  It is only fitting that we had the most controversial meaningful game to report in this historic issue.  The game started out with the Reds loaded with guns and Tweedy in the nets with Stump on defense.  It looked bad for the Whites, but then Rich Storm fired a shot that was deflected by Tommy Z right over Tweedy's shoulder.  Papa Joe and Harvey scored meaningful goals to give the Reds a comfortable 2-0 lead that lasted until Brinks scored for the Whites.  Johnny Z had a 2 goal limit shift that put the meaningless game out of reach.  Beak fired a pass to Hacksaw, that sent him in alone on Tweedy.  Hacksaw's clean break away was made possible by Thor, who was holding his son Miller Lite all the way down.  Hacksaw shot the puck through Tweedy's 5 hole and the Whites started celebrating the tying goal. 

We need to know if you are going to New Orleans.  We can get ice if we have enough skaters, but we would have to fly there if we want to arrive early enough to skate.
We can get ice in Peoria on February 16, but some of us are looking at Salt Lake City for the Women's Hockey finals on February 19-21.  Some one will have to take the lead on Peoria if that happens.
