Thor, Beak& Brinks   Score

Bolingbrook, IL
December 6, 2002

For the second week in a row, Klinger

helped set up a Beak meaningful goal.  This week he fed Tommy Z who passed up an open net so that he could pass to Beak.  Beak poked it past the Anvil to give the Reds a 1-0 meaningful lead.  For the second week in a row, it looked like that goal would stand up to be the game winner, but the Alien spoiled that late in the game when he pounced on a lonely puck in the slot and beat Garry the Ghost.
     The game winner went to
Brinks  when he took advantage of a lineup change that moved Rich Storm from defense to center.  That combination clicked for 2 quick goals for Brinks and the Whites.  Thor Miller iced the game for the Whites with a break away goal on his last shift.  "They say" you have to shoot if you want to score, but Thor proved that saying wrong as his son, "Ultra Lite" poked the puck off of his stick past the Anvil.  That goal finished off Eddie's nightmare that started with 2 floater goals buy Stump.

Peoria

Peoria's December game dates are 20, 21, 27, 28 and 31.  There hasn't been much interest in going before Christmas so that leaves  Saturday the 28th.  If you are interested in going, let me know Friday, so I can get the wheels rolling.  New Years Eve in Peoria would be different experience.  We would have to bring wives to pull that one off.

Peoria’s “NASCAR Rod” decided to volunteer for obtaining donations for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Steve Castleman's wife has M.S. We will be selling Peoria-Duffer T shirts that will help raise funds for him. (Steve plays goalie for the Peoria Duffers.) If you want to make a donation, make your check out to: The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The Best Advice I've Ever Received

1. Throw out non-essential numbers. This includes
age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about
them. That is why you pay him/her.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer,
crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain
idle, "An idle mind is the devil's workshop," the

devil's name is Depression.
4. Enjoy the simple things. When the children are
young, that is all that you can afford. When they

are in college, that is all that you can afford.
When you are on retirement, that is all that you can afford.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp
for breath. Laugh so much that you can be tracked in
the store by your distinctive laughter.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on.
The only person who is with us our entire life, is
ourselves. Be alive while you are alive; don't put
out a mailbox on the highway of death and just wait
in residence for your mail.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it
is family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies,
whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what
you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Go to the mall, the next
county, a foreign country, but not to guilt country.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at
every opportunity; and always remember . . . "Life
is not measured by the number of breaths we take but
by the moments that take our breath away."

THEY SAY. . .

It takes a minute to find a special person
An hour to appreciate them
A day to love them
But then an entire life to forget them.

(Some I've tried to forget...but they just keep coming back like a song...)  jb
