This beautiful background was sent to us by NASA.
This is a 10 micron interplanetary dust particle, collected in the stratosphere with a U2 aircraft. This particle is similar in elemental composition to primitive meteorites but differs in having higher carbon and volatile element abundance. The particle is composed of glass, carbon and many types of silicate mineral grains. It is a sample of either an asteroid or a comet.

Thor and Beak Score!
Friday 12/8/00

Thor started the scoring early when he teamed up with Brinks and Tweedy to give the Whites an early lead.  The goals were hard to come by as the Ghost and Brian were tough.  Brian got off to a ruff start in the parking lot when his lady slammed the car door his stick.  It is a good thing those goalie sticks are tough.
Tommy Z was able to poke 2 meaningless goals past the Ghost, and Beak was in the right place to hammer home the rebound of a Stump shot from the point, to knot it at 2.

It looked like the “first” of last week was about to become a “second”, because each goalie had a shut out.  The Ghost hadn't allowed a meaningful goal and Brian had a meaningless shut out.  Then Koss surprised everybody!  Gary the Ghost thought John was playing on the Blues team with a White Jersey.  John broke the tie when he scored a goal late in the Third period to give the Whites a 3-2 win to go along with their 2-0 meaningful win.
Muzzy returned to give a deposit for the Hayward road trip.  Little Jeff provided the best laugh of the day when he over heard Muzzy say he was retired from hockey and Koss said, “You're not retired, you're retarded.  Little Jeff went over to his uncle Dan and asked in a most sincere way, “Is that guy really retarded?  All of the players on the bench went wild with laughter.
Berserk returned from his bout with bronchitis and provided a few laughs with his spills on and off of the ice.  Wendy showed up to help us double our attendance.
Papa returned and felt great!
The Peoria Rivermen won both of their games this weekend, becoming one of only three ECHL teams to win 17 games thus far. The team remains tied with Trenton (17-5-1) for first place in the Northern Conference and continues
to lead the NW Division, now 6 points ahead of 2nd place Dayton.

This picture came from Marathon George in Florida. Four days later, it sailed in from Bush Basher, Veto, in Seattle Washington.

Three Duffers pitched in and helped Beak's Science Fair.  Papa Joe and Mike DiVevo check out the Duffer inspired project, "How Many Heart Beats Do You Have?  Beak thanks the judges for their help.  Doc got away before Beak could get the digital camera out.  If you want to see Doc at work at the last Blizzard Science fair, click here. Doc has been a judge for 5 years.  This is Papa's second year.

These pictures were sent to us by Emil's lovely wife Pam. Emil (Standing) was Tommy Z college hockey coach.
*Notice, they misspelled Scully's.

Why is everyone laughing in Peoria? Emil with Peoria Duffer in chief, Art.
