The King returned to claim his corner last Friday and He played 2 fine periods to get in shape for Denver.  The Reds dominated the meaningless contest with strong goaltending by Tweedy and 3 goals by the Oskrobas.  (2 by Uncle Bob and 1 by Mini Wheezer)  Sanchez scored 2 as did Zagnuts.  "Rover" Blue Ball Bill was the only one to poke one past Tweedy.  The Meaningless contest ended in a 0-0 tie.  Stump was flying around with his new hip. 
Plainfield, IL 2/17/04
On Tuesday, some Duffers slipped out of work early and headed for the Brinks rink in Plainfield.  Brinks has been working hard this winter shoveling snow and sprinkling the lake.  Brinks figured a 2:00 PM game would attract the retired guys, but the working people outnumbered the retired guys 3 to 1.  Knarf had a good excuse, but Hacksaw was taking a nap when Beak called and offered to pick him up. 
We were blessed with a beautiful warm sunny day with no wind.  Don's neighbor, Kim, slipped out of her Speedos and joined in the game. 

Beak had a problem holding his Amstel Light with his new  hockey gloves that were formed to wrap around a hockey stick, so Mark suggested that he put a beer in the grip of the glove and form it to hold a beer.

There is an entry on the Duffer Calendar for March 7, 2004.  Beak has been involved with the Jim Misiora Day at the Races. He will be twisting arms so that we can have a table full of Duffers at that fun filled event.  For more information, click here.
