Boris “Hacksaw” Pavichevich became the 16th Duffer to get his
name engraved on the “King’s Meaningless Trophy”. This trophy has
quite a history.
In 1983, the King became the first recipient of the “King’s Meaningless Trophy”. Every year, another Duffer was selected for the honor. They got to keep the trophy for 1 year, then they had to relinquish their crown at the, “the yearly annual picnic”to quote John Koss. In 1993, Klinger was given the Trophy and he forgot he had it and no one could remember who it was given to, so no Duffers were given the trophy for 3 years until Bill found the trophy under a 3 year layer of dust. Papa Joe, Thor, and Harvey were given the Trophy at the 1996 picnic. They each held it for 4 months. Fred was given the trophy in 97 and tears of joy stained his wife Shirley’s face. The following year, Hacksaw’s wife Mira displayed a little better understanding of the honor when she fought back tears of shame. |
A New GOD!
Kathie and Mike Spillman had a 9 pound 15 ounce baby boy on Thursday, May 4, 2000. Michael Gregory Spillman is refered to as a GOD (Grandson Of a Duffer) in the Duffer Hockey community. Grandpa Lopatka was there with the digital camera. Enjoy the pictures and videos at http://www.lopatka.net/2-12-00.html |

Hacksaw and Thor took advantage of the added speed
up the middle (Woody/Tommy) and had easy tap in goals for the winning Blue
squad.
Vidas made a triumphant return scoring a goal in Harvey's White sweater. Wheezer dominated in Cricket at the bar. Tommy Morgan Season Finale Preview What To Watch
* Will this be the King's last game? He threatens retirement every Friday. I see him playing at least two periods a week for another 10 years. * Alien missed last week. There was nobody to screw up the lines after the game began. Will we have the same luck two weeks in a row? * The beer situation is becoming critical.
The king has been worried, as of late, that the smoking locker room is
having too much fun. How much fun will they have in the season finale?
King Kong Zagorski-isms "If a batter is hit by a pitch, he should be able to pick up the ball and throw it at the pitcher." Johnny on; Salary discrepancies: "George Steinbrenner should spend as much money as possible, win the World Series every year, and put all the other teams out of business." Johnny on; God: "If God can do anything, could he make a rock so heavy, that he couldn't lift it?"
