We didn't have computers to help us remember back then.
In 1996, Klinger found the trophy in his basement with 3 uneaten White Castle burgers.
Thor, Papa Joe and Harvey were given the meaningless trophy at the 1996 picnic to make up for the missing years. The last two weeks, the Whites were foiled by hot goaltending, even though they had 5
Granatos. This week they added another Rob to give them 6 Granatos and they brought up Garrett, a goalie from Peoria.
Garrett played his first game with us in Peoria. His brother Ian refereed and his Mom,
Donna took many great photos. The Whites had 3 Robs, 2 Dons and one Steve.
Steve did most of the damage, after getting his first goal disallowed, he went on to score 5 more goals.
Brinks had the only meaningful goal to give the Whites and Garret a double header win.
The Reds were leading most of the way, thanks to some goals by Tweedy and Art, but the Whites came on strong in the final minutes to pull out a thrilling win. Thanks to all of the Duffers who contributed to the St. Jude Children's hospital fund.
We were able to give Donna over $200 toward her goal. If you are planning to attend the Grant Importing Golf outing, send a check for $80 to Grant Importing.
