The July Duffer game featured some great goaltending by the Ghost and the Anvil.  They made  some great saves as they each turned in a meaningful shutout.  Thor had the Anvil down and out with a wide open net, he had time and space and all he had to do was flip the puck into the open net.  He took a little extra time and cranked an ice hugging  slap shot and that was all Eddie needed as the Anvil slid his big goalie stick across the crease and blocked the shot.  Hitman had the Ghost beat when he picked up his own rebound and flipped it at the empty net, but he forgot

that there was another goalie out there.  Stump jumped in and blocked out the shot and keep the shout out alive.  Gary lost his meaningless shout out when his star defensemen, smoothly stick handled the puck right into the net!  The goal was credited to the Anvil.  The Reds went on to take a comfortable

lead with 2 goals each by Rich Storm and Tommy Z.  The Anvil finally cracked when Beak fanned on a pass in the slot and Tweedy one timed the pass past Eddie, who never had a chance with Beak's big frame serving as a screen.  Son of Denny DeGuest scored for the Whites and Tweedy added a few more to tie the game at 6.  It looked

like the game would end up like the MLB 2002 All Star game, but no!  Beer Nuts set up Miller Ultra Lite for the game winner at the Buzzer! 
Speaking of all star games, I'm glad the American League beat the National Stars since the Cardinal fans stuffed the ballot box and gave 4 of the 8 starting positions to players from a 2nd place 500 team.  Those 4 players went 1 for 12 in the "Meaningful" All Star Game!
