4 Hat Tricks!

Romeoville, IL 05/2/2008
Attendance 26
Another good turn out, helped by several guests, produced a good game for 1 period.  The Whites were up 2-1 at the end of the first period, with no meaningful goals.  The first 2 shifts of second period turned a nail biter into a blow out.  Thor scored 2 meaningful goals in the first 2 minutes.  The Reds changed lines while the Whites stayed on a little longer and Brinks score 2 more almost immediately to make it a 6-1 game.  It looked like history was being repeated, since one year ago, Thor had 2, Brinks had one and Magoo had one.

Our most dependable referee since Nick Brescia, Nick Wayne, was wiped out after pulling all of those pucks out of the net, He never finished his food.

Beak told Magoo to get on the board, but that never happened as Brinks added another to get his "Hat Trick".  "George of the Jungle", briefly know as Hat Trick George, made an attempt to reclaim his old nick name, as he also added a Hat Trick for the Whites.  Robby already had 3, so hat tricks were plentiful on this evening.   Tommy Z had 3 for the Reds, and one of the Guests had the only other Red goal.  The rookie 19 year old goalie gave the Whites fits.  Final score, Whites, 3 squared plus 2, Reds 2 squared. Meaningless and 5-0 Meaningful.  4 Hat Tricks will be added to the Duffer History Book.

Mr. Clean Has a Picnic Date!
The 2008 Duffer Picnic will be on June 7th at Argonne National Lab Picnic Grounds on Cass Avenue.  The Picnic Committee meeting will probably be held on Friday May 23rd.  (Frank and Beak can't make it on March 16th.)  Location will be at Mr. Clean's house if available.  Tommy Z has generously offered his house for the meeting in an attempt to get the Duffer youth more involved in the Picnic.  The Klinger Krash Award winner will be named at that meeting.

Perfect Attendance for Stump, Beak and Frank!

With only one week left in the 2007-08 season, (The Season ends on  May 9th) Stump, Beak and Frank have played in every game

this season.  Frank headed for land of "Underwater Specialists", so he will ruin his perfect streak.  Tim Smith had perfect attendance  a year ago.

Bowling anyone?
My Granddaughter's Softball team is having a Bowling party on May 10.  $25.00 per person.  There are many prizes, including tickets to Cub games and Sox games.  You can bowl with Stump, Beak and Tweedy if you call Beak now.

Bowling Prizes for the May 10th Event.  Looks like a Drinking Team.
