Attendance 20

a great time.  The Duffers who stayed at Bonos until 1:30, got to drive home on salted streets.  The moral of the story is don't let the threat of bad weather ruin your good times.
Here is a list of the 20 Duffers who were not scared off by the threat of snow and freezing rain:  Anvil,

The threat of bad weather may have caused many Duffers to stay home last week.  We were forced to play with only 2 forward lines and 3 defensemen on each team!  The bonus of  low attendance is MBPD. (More Beers Per Duffer)  With Brinks in Florida, Beak made a bid for MVP by bringing in the Strohs.  If everybody had thrown caution to the wind and made it to the rink, we barely would have had 1 beer each.
The game featured great goaltending by The Anvil and the Brain.  neither goalie gave up a meaningful goal despite great setups by Tweedy, Tommy, Johnny and By the Way, Bill.  Thor had the Anvil down and out, but he couldn't get his shot up.  On one occasion, Eddie was flat on his back when Thor shot him in the bottom of his goalie skates.  Our veteran goalie analyst, Stump, who has made thousands of saves, said he had never made or seen a save like that.  Tommy Zagnuts got the only 2 pucks past the Brain.  Tweedy fired one off of the post that ruined the Anvil's shut out.  Blue Ball Bill scored the second goal for the Whites to give them a 2-2 meaningless tie.  If you stayed home because your lady saw the freezing rain forecast, you missed

Michael Climbs on board the giant CN Diesel as Rodger looks on.

The only Duffer known to have a good excuse was Brinks, he was on his way to watch the Avalanche in Tampa Bay Florida.
*John "Magoo" Landry scored that mystery goal last week.

Reminder: Please register your party intentions on line so that Wendy will have plenty of Jello Shots at the Duffer Christmas party on February 7.

Bill, By the Way gave Beak's grandson ,Michael, the thrill of a life time when he took him to the CN Railroad yard.

Last week, our  speedy center from Canada, took Beak and his Grandson, Michael, to the Canadian National Rail yard. Steve, the rail yard master, took us for a tour of the yard, and then found us a guy that would take Michael on board a giant Diesel engine.

Roger offered to take him on board.

The smile tells it all!

Michael turned the lights on. A call on the radio from a n engineer offered to take him on a ride to Indiana.   After the event, Michael wanted to go on another one.  We didn't tell him about the ride to Indiana offer.

Bill treated us to lunch at the Northwoods Restaurant. They had a train that circled the restaurant every minute.

There is an entry on the Duffer Calendar for March 7, 2004.  Beak has been involved with the Jim Misiora Day at the Races. He will be twisting arms so that we can have a table full of Duffers at that fun filled event.  For more information, click here. If you can't go to Denver that weekend, He would really appreciate it if you would help him fill one table.

You can e-mail History updates to Beak.
