Attendance 17 Report by The Flea

Perfect attendance slips to 5!

We went from 9 to 5 when Hitman, Magoo, Harvey and Johnny Z missed their first game of the season.  Only Knarf, Klinger, Fruit Cake, Stump, and Tommy Z have Perfect Attendance after 6 weeks.  The Brain and the Anvil had their hands full, as poor attendance forced the guys to play 4 on 4 hockey.  That meant plenty of quality shots all night long.  The goalies got their money's worth.  They paid ten bucks and got around a hundred shots each.  What a bargain, that's about a dime a shot.

The Maple Leafs sent a scout to check out the Duffers.

The Polar Bears won the Meaningful game 3-0 with Brinks getting all 3 meaningful goals! Thanks to Brinks Junior,  he had many set ups.  Tweedy and The Flea had Eddie dancing and kicking when the Granatos were resting.  The Red Bears didn't have any Meaningful forwards to counter the Brinks attack.  Bill By the Way and Mini Wheezer kept the Brain busy, while Tommy Z and Steve "Rembrandt" Granato peppered the Brain and the posts many times.  It was hard to tell who was playing defense as Klinger, Fruitcake and Koss joined the rush whenever possible.  Knarf was the only Red Bear that stayed back most of the night, since he already has reached his goal quota this year.  The Polar Bear Defense was equally aggressive, but a little more tired, because they only had 3 defensemen. Basketball Jones, Stump and Rich Storm joined in the Anvil ambush whenever they had some air in their lungs.

The Flea Report
Good morning Beak, many thanks for the email.
This is going to be a challenge. You are right, Tweedy did feed me all night. I got three. Tweedy had

two at least. Basketball Jones had 1, Brinks had three, Brinks Jr. had at least one.
Best regards,

Perry

Hacksaw gives the Flea a yellow card for un-duffer like behavior.  (He was spotted back checking)

Did this Beech ball picture help Donny get out of St Louis and into Toronto?

I have added 5 Quick Time Videos this week.

*I got the following comment and advice from our Duffer Tech Head:

It takes about 30 seconds before it plays.  But I like to download the linked file* and then watch it in the stand alone player.  This way you can see the download progress and resize the video.

Mike

*To do this, you can right click and select "Save Target as" With the Quicktime player, you can stop the video and copy an individual frame.

Rich Storm is on a Roll!

When I open a Rich Storm creation, I usually laugh out loud and spit out my coffee, as my wife yells, "Mike Presecky sending you pictures again?" The latest picture had me puzzled, because this was a dead ringer for a former colleague of mine.  This happened only once before when Boris looked so much like Dr. Evil that I didn't get it until I studied the picture. The picture below came with a hint that said, "Looking for a job".  With that hint, I was able to look closely and see a young Duffer in that face and not the star of the movie, "Stripes".  Way back in the early 1960s, when I was teaching children from the Robert Taylor Homes at 47th and State Street, a young man left his job at Playboy Magazine to join our teaching staff.  He ate lunch with us (5 White Guys) every day.  We asked him why he would leave a cushy job at Playboy to dodge bullets in the Robert Taylor Homes neighborhood.   He told us he was talking advantage of the  Draft deferment that was being offered to teachers.  He figured the the Viet Cong had better aim than the Robert Taylor Thugs. We also had a Harvard Law School grad join our staff. He started his law practice after the war ended.  We had many laugh filled lunches with Harold, where we exchanged college and life stories. Harold Ramos later became famous after the war, when he went to work at National Lampoon and started writing hit comedy movies, starting with Animal House, Groundhog Day, Meat balls, Analyze That and many more. (Animal House had more than one of the stories that were shared at our table) He later went on to act in Stripes and the Ghost Buster movies.

Hacksaw gives the Flea a yellow card as He tries to add a soccer flavor to the game.  The only problem with that is we had more goals in one game than the Fire had all season.
