    Rich Storm

The Reds managed to win the thrilling Meaningless contest 8-7.  Bill By the Way had a beautiful goal when he fired a one timer past Eddie.  Cammi's comment on the bench was, "That goal should be on ESPN."  Miller Lite had a nice goal when he moved back to play defense.  Cammi had a nice goal from the high slot.  I think Johnny Z had the 7th goal for the Whites.  The Reds had 2 goals on easy Tap ins.  Mini Wheezer found a puck on the goal line that he poked in and Rich Storm had a similar goal when a Papa Joe shot ran out of gas on the goal line.  I remember Mark Fetting, Tommy Z and Butt Head scoring goals to account for 7 of the 8 red goals.  Maybe Perry scored since he had a very talented and pretty defensive partner.  (Cammi's Canadian friend)  Tommy may have had 2, it is hard remembering 15 goals while watching Monday night football!

Cammi flew in, her brother Rob flew out and together, they made life miserable for the Reds.  They started the power display when Cammi took a pass from Rob and circled into the slot where she found her Dad waiting at the back door.  Brinks tapped an easy goal past the Anvil.  Beak picked up the second meaningful goal when he flipped a backhanded, bad angle shot past a surprised Anvil.  Rob threaded a pass through a crowd and Brinks had another beautiful tip in to give the Reds a 3-1 Meaningful win.  The only meaningful goal came when Beer Nuts had a clean break away, thanks to a Lake Placid line change.*  Five Whites came off of the ice and no one came on.  The Brain made a great stop on the break away, but the Beer man picked up his own rebound and flipped it to the top shelf!

*In April, 1981, the Duffers played serious hockey in the Olympic rink in Lake Placid New York.  They baffled their opponents with a line change that saw 5 exiting Duffers crash into 5 entering Duffers.  The well drilled opponents went off side when they tried to enter the zone with a 5 on 0.  When they were interviewed after the game they said that they never practiced a 5 on 0!

Two of the goal scorers, Mini Wheezer and Brinks share a story.

Stump is enjoying his rehab with lunch at Nicks.  (L to R) Nick, Brinks, Hacksaw, Stump, Roman and Klinger.

There is an entry on the Duffer Calendar for March 7, 2004.  Beak has been involved with the Jim Misiora Day at the Races. He will be twisting arms so that we can have a table full of Duffers at that fun filled event.  For more information, click here. If you can't go to Denver that weekend, He would really appreciate it if you would help him fill one table.

I just added a new entry to the History about Bill By the Way and Perry the Flea.

You can e-mail History updates to Beak.
