Hitman Leads the way with 4 Goals!

The game started out to be a close encounter, as the lead changed hands as each team scored 3 goals in the first period. Hitman and Tommy scored for the Reds and Art and Beak Junior scored for the Whites. The second period was all White as Magoo, Hitman, Tommy and Lil Anvil put the Reds up 7-3. The Whites started the third period determined to get a quick goal and get back into it, but Mini Wheezer scored in the first 30 seconds and the rout was on. Harvey and Hitman added 3 more Meaningful goals to give The Anvil and the Reds a 6-0 Meaningful Shut out win. The Meaningless Final was 10 or 11-4. Johnny Z picked up the

	loan goal for the Whites. Beak Junior took a stick in the eye from his lawyer, now he is looking for a lawyer that will sue his lawyer. Worchester Trip Harvey was the first guy to turn in his $100 trip deposit, who will be next? March 6th Day at the Races I still have a few seats left at the Duffer Table. Hacksaw is ready to Book our flights to Providence and Klinger will handle ground transportation. We are looking to Play in Worcester on the 15th and the 16th of April. We will leave Thursday after noon and return home Sunday night, April 18th.

New Lunch Crowd Record

It started out like a routine Wednesday lunch when Frank, Nick and Beak sat down at their usual table, then Bill By the Way and Rich Storm came in, followed by Elmer Fudd (Buckshot). Another table was added. 2 more hunters strolled in (Frank Herout and Klinger) Thor and his boss came in and brought us up to a record tying 10 for lunch! Just as we were ready to take a group picture of the crowd, the Homer Township Highway Commissioner candidate (The Nailer) and his wife had us add another table. Now we were up to 12, a new record and Hacksaw popped in to help us set the new lunch crowd record of 13!

	The ages for the Duffer Dues Payers were calculated on January 29, 2005. When I took a graduate class in statistics at Loyola way back in the sixties, we were drilled on the 3 Ms. Median, Mean and Mode. The Mean was the average. I used to remember mean was the average because you had to add all of those numbers and then do long division. That was mean, because we did these calculations with a #2 pencil! I wish I had a calculator or an Excel spread sheet back then. The Mode is the most frequent number in the group. The Duffer Roster had 9 Modes! That is because we have such age diversity. There is no age that occurs more than twice. There are two 66 year olds, two 63 year olds, Two 57 year olds and so on. The Median age is the one in the middle. The Duffer Median score is 48.1. There are 16 numbers above it and 16 numbers below it. Our New Leader, Rich Storm, who took statistics 3 decades later than me, kept referring to our middle score as the cipher. That sent me to the on line Merriam Webster Dictionary, where I found the following definition:
