Attendance 25  Report by Beak

Friday's Forgettable Game!

Trying to remember what happened on Friday, after a fun filled Peoria weekend was not easy, so I asked for e-mail help.  Here is what I got, Fruitcake said the final score was Reds 7, Whites 6 and Tommy had a natural Hat Trick.  Brinks said that Hitman had 2 meaningful goals.  Whites 2, Reds 0.
Peoria
We presented Coach Jason Christie with 2 cases of beer, a thank you plaque and card.  Jason reciprocated with $3,000 worth of ice and $300. In tickets. We

Boris brags to the waitress that his is smaller than Art's.  (We are talking cell Phones)

skated three 20 minute stop time periods and there was only one meaningful goal.  Grant set up Beak with a drop pass, that Beak fired at the net and a defender changed its direction, so that The Brain never had a chance.  The Meaningless contest was close for a while.  The Whites went up 4-0, but the Reds came storming back to take a 5-4 lead with a hat trick by Beak's Grandson, Jeff Lopatka.  Grant went to work after having the Brain foil 4 or 5 of his breakaways.  The Whites ended up with a 9-5 lead after 60 minutes of play.  The crafty veterans, Beak, Hacksaw and Knarf went to the locker room and got a jump on the beer cooler, while some of the hardy Duffers played another full period. I understand Klinger gave up 10 goals in the 20 minute overtime without his partner Knarf.  It would be hard to declare a winning goalie, since they rotated every 10 minutes.  For the rest of the story, click here.

The Rivermen Game was very exciting as they shut out the Nailers, 3-0 .  The Rivermen are only 5 points out of first, but they are only 1 point away from missing the play offs.  Jason has them playing much better than they did last November.  They have won 10 straight home games.

Those of you that missed Peoria, we had a 3 foot high official referee, complete with red arm bands and he even had his name sewn on his shirt.  I never knew we had such a dirty team.  He started putting people in the box early in the game.  He put Emil in first, but the Reds ignored his call and put 5 skaters out there and He immediately gave them a "Too Many Men" penalty.  The kid had stones! To no one's surprise, Stump was next and the Whites killed that off, preserving The Anvil's shut out.
He rang up Art in the final minute and then 10 seconds later, he went too far, when he sent the new King to the Sin Bin, giving the Reds a 5 on 3 advantage.  When the period ended, Rich Storm had a conference with the miniature Ref and his Mom. The second period started with a 5 on 5.  Art and Mike were freed from the box.  Time off for good behavior of Political clout?  You be the judge. The rest of the game was penalty free.
The Ref's Mom sent us this picture.  We have another Rich Storm creation.  Thanks Donna!
