War Quotes

Great answer to a stupid question

U.S. Army Staff sergeant, Jamie Villafane, was asked, "How did it feel getting shot at?" He answered, "Getting shot at wasn't really that bad.  It was the getting shot part that sucked."
"In California, 50 women protested the impending war with Iraq by lying on the ground naked and spelling out the word peace. Right idea, wrong president." --Jay Leno
"In a speech earlier today President Bush said if Iraq gets rid of Saddam Hussein, he will help the Iraqi people with food, medicine, supplies, housing, education - anything that's needed. Isn't that amazing? He finally comes up with a domestic agenda - and it's for Iraq. Maybe we could bring that here if it works out." --Jay Leno

The last time that the Anvil stopped so much rubber, was November 2001 when he made a ton of saves in a 3 hour Peoria game.  Eddie only allowed one meaningful goal to Fruitcake.  The Ghost only gave up 1 meaningful goal and that was Hitman, who is the team leader in GPPs. (Goals Per Pound)  Beer Nuts is at the bottom of that list.  Eddie's superb performance kept the Reds in the game until the King gave the Brain his shin guards.  (The Brain was serving as a back up to the Anvil

who had his back adjusted by an old goalie) The Brain Conked the Ghost in the melon with his first shot and the Tommys put the meaningless game away.  Final score 6-3
Who didn't Pay?  It wasn't #25, he was in Seattle.  It was #8 who stiffed our pretty barmaid.  It was suggested that drive offs should be published in the Duffer News.

Hacksaw and his neighbor, John, celebrate the birth of the first Pavichevich grandchild.

Harley's were all over the place as friendly bikers filled the bar.  Frank holds up a Ralph Kiner homerun ball that Beak's dad caught in 1950.  Brinks put a 1930 Wilson 021 baseball glove that Herb Lopatka used when he played shortshop for the St. Michaels neighborhood team. Hacksaw and Beak hold a Wrigley Field Collectible bat that Beak received from Agi for Father's Day.
Unfortunately, the week ended with the horrific news that rocked the Duffer family.

Tony shows a little fire in the 5-2 win that clinched the Division championship. The Northwest race proved historic, with the Avalanche coming from fourth place in late December to nip the Canucks on the final day of the season for their record ninth straight division crown.

The Rivermen didn't fair as well, as Kevin Granato set up the goal that gave them a 3-2 lead, but they lost in overtime for the second straight night to end their season.
