1956 - 57 Junior Basketball Team Presenter: Tim Bopp
One of the great Holy Trinity Junior Basketball Teams. The team won the Chicago Catholic League North Section Junior Championship, won eight practice tilts before compiling a 10 – 2 league mark, performed remarkably well in the prestigious annual Fenwick Junior Basketball Tournament as well as being outstanding in the city playoffs and captured third place for the entire Chicago Catholic Junior Basketball League. Lawrence Wisniewski Football, Class of 1959 Presenter: Barbara McCurdy Lawrence (Larry) was a quarterback and member of the football
team for four years, was awarded a major monogram in his junior and
senior years and was co-captain in his senior year. In his senior year, he received numerous awards including: * Alumni Award for Outstanding Athlete and Most Valuable Back * CISCA News North Section Catholic All Star * Chicago American

* New World All-Star Team In addition to his football accomplishments, Larry was a
member of the National Honor Society in his senior year, awarded a Scholastic
Monogram in his freshman and sophomore years, Class Treasurer in his junior
year, Class Vice-President in his senior year, on the Yearbook Staff in his
sophomore and senior years, on the Newspaper Staff in his sophomore year, a
member of the Pep Club in his senior year, played intramural basketball and
volleyball all four years and was a member of the basketball team in his
freshman year. Larry received a football scholarship to the University of
Illinois and played in his freshman year; but had a serious injury during the
final spring practice game that ended his college football career. Larry graduated from Loyola University with a BS in Social
Sciences in 1964. He worked for GTE Corporation for 24 years in a number of
Human Resource managerial positions; the last one as Director of Human Resources
until they closed their local manufacturing operations. Most recently, he worked
for 13 years as Human Resource Director for Cermak Health Services of Cook
County (over 500 medical professionals- doctors, nurses, mental health
specialists, pharmacists, etc. that provide health services to the 10,000
inmates of the Cook County jail) until retirement in May of 2007. He is
married to Elaine for 45 years. They have 2 children, Deborah 44 (husband
is Bob Price) and David 38 (living in North Carolina- wife is Vicki). They are
the proud grandparents of 5 Grandchildren: Nicole (19), Amanda (17), Jessica
(15), Tyler (12) and Peyton (8). Larry’s interests include golf, reading,
traveling and watching his grandchildren's sports activities. Other than living
in New Hampshire for several years, he has lived in the

Quincy Paden Track & Field, Basketball and Cross Country Class of 1995 Presenter: Jorge Arreguin Class of 1985 Quincy was a three sport athlete excelling in
track & field, basketball and cross country. In his senior year, he was the
recipient of the Tiger Award (Coach’s Award given to an athlete who
exemplifies leadership) and honored as Top Senior Athlete of the year. He was a four year member of the basketball
team with two years as varsity starter and co-captain in his senior year. He was
a member of the varsity cross country team for three years and a member of the
IHSA Regional Team his sophomore, junior and senior years. In track & field, Quincy was a 4 year IHSA
Sectional Qualifier in the finals of the 100M and 200M dash (the only one in
school history), placed third in his sophomore and senior year in the 200M
Finals and third in the 100M in his senior year. In the Chicago Prep
Conference, he was 100M and 200M Dash Champion in his sophomore through senior
years and was a member of the 4 x 100M Conference Champions in his sophomore
through senior year. He was Most Valuable Player of the track team for 4 years
in a row. In addition to his
athletic accomplishments, Quincy was in the gospel choir and performed in the
Marching band playing the Bass drum. He was also in Honors classes throughout
high school. Quincy graduated from Morehouse College in
Atlanta, Georgia with a B.A. in Psychology in 1999. He continued his education
and obtained a M.S.Ed in Counselor Education from Western Illinois University in
2003. He currently is attending Northern Illinois University to obtain a Doctor
of Education degree. He will be awarded the Doctor of Education degree in
Counselor Education this summer. He is single, lives in DeKalb, Illinois and is
currently working for Northern Illinois University as an Academic Advisor. His
hobbies include running, weight training, basketball and traveling. Page 4 |
Ronald S. Sowizrol Class of 1957 Henry Brandt
Presenter: Scott R. Sowizrol Ron was a proud member of the class of 1957. He played football for four years earning one minor and two major letters. He was named second team North Section Catholic League in the Sun-Times. He also received the Doctor Jakubowski sportsmanship award. Ron played the part of Gorboduc Dutch Jones in the school play “The Billion Dollar Saint.” He played intramural basketball and volleyball all four years, was a member of the camera club and Y.C.S. Ron received a football scholarship to St. Ambrose College but decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and became an electrician. Ron has been a member of local 134 I.B.E.W. for fifty years and is still active in its retirees club. Ron served as the assistant electrical inspector for the Village of Schiller Park and he was on the Plan Commission Board where he was instrumental in forming the first master plan for the village. He also coached little league and Pop Warner football in Schiller Park. After moving to Inverness he became active in the St. Viator Athletic Club and helped with many fundraisers including the 3 on 3 basketball tournament and the “Run For The Lion.” Ron served as president of the St. Viator Hockey Club for twelve years. For his hard work and dedication St. Viator awarded him the Bob Artman Sportsman of the Year award in 1997 and in 1999 was awarded the Athletic Hall of Fame Meritorious Service award. Ron was also the vice president of the Metropolitan High School Hockey League Northwest Division for five years. Ron married his high school sweetheart, Roberta Ann, in 1961. They have been happily married for forty seven years. They have six children. Scott, Kevin, Glenn, Randy, Ronny, and Robin Ann. Ron and Roberta have been retired for about six years and enjoy travelling. They have been to Italy, Poland and Ireland. Ron still finds time to give back to his alma mater and has been very active at Holy Trinity in the Alumni Association for at least twenty two years . He serves on the golf committee, hall of fame committee, and the Christmas dinner committee. Ron and his wife also donate auction items and participate in the annual Guardians of Hope dinner.
