Welcome to

This week’s featured song is “Boat Drinks", a Jimmy Buffett song that inspired by a place in Boston that was owned by Derek Sandersen.

The Internet Explorer browser is the only one that I know plays the background music.

From the Parrot Head Handbook

"It was February in Boston, and I was cold and wanted to go home.  Rum and tonic was the anti-freeze, and the newspaper was full of ads for warmer climates.  I was in a place owned by Derek Sandersen, who was a very famous player for the Boston Bruins in the 70's.  I came out of the bar and couldn't find a cab except for the one that was running in front of the nearby hotel.  There was no driver in it, and I was too cold to care about the consequences.  There is an old Navy expression which says, "Beg forgiveness, not permission."  I hopped in and drove the cab back to my hotel.  I did leave the fare on the seat."  Click here for the words to Boat drinks

5 Guys have Deuces!

Romeoville, IL 10/09/09        Perry, The Stepford Husband
Attendance 22

After the game, I called my wife to tell her I survived another rough and tumble Duffer game and I mentioned that Perry was there and that he asked how she was doing.  My wife said, "He is so nice, they should make the next Stepford Husband movie have all of the husbands like him." (For you young guys, there was a movie that came out when Tweedy and TZ were in Kindergarten called the Stepford Wives.  Those wives were all hot and obedient.  I never saw the 1996 Stepford Husband movie)  We'll have to get an opinion from Mrs. Lea.

For two straight weeks, four different Duffers scored a pair of goals.  This week we upped it to five guys with a pair of goals.  Tom "Big Buff" O'Connor put the Reds on top with an early goal that beat the Brain in the corner.  John "Mr. Magoo"

Perry flew in from Texas, just to snatch a win from The Anvil.

Landry scored on the next shift when he one timed a beautiful Frisbee pass from Tweedy that sailed right over the defenders' sticks.  The Reds had their first 2 goal lead of the season cut in half when Mike "Rich Storm" Presecky stormed in on the Anvil and hammered one in.  Brinks opened the second period with a goal that he scored while he and

the Anvil were sprawled on the ice with several other players.  It looked like a car crash on a hot day at the Dairy Queen.  I didn't see who caused the mayhem, but since Klinger was not there, it must have been the current Klinger Krash Award winner.  Perry "The Flea" broke the tie a few minutes later when he did a little Texas 2 step and fired one past the dizzy Anvil.  3 minutes later, Tweedy zipped a low shot under the Brain to knot it at 3.  Rich Storm gave the Whites a 4-3 lead with a break away goal to start the third period.  Big Buff answered that with a beautiful tip of a Tweedy blast that the Brain couldn't see with Beak in his face.  Brinks tipped in a Rich Storm pass past the Anvil to give the Whites a 5-4 lead, but Tweedy tied it at 5 when his blast froze the Brain.  It looked like we would have another tie until Perry teed one up from the blue line and blew it through a crowd and into the net for the game winner.  Did he celebrate?  That is the question.  TZ put some icing on the

Harvey returned the beef up our numbers,

cake with a late goal to give the Polar Bears a 7-5 win.  The Reds picked up their first meaningful win 3-2.  They then went over to Wild Wings and edged the Whites 8-7.  Thanks to the Flea and T&A for contributing to this story.

Boat drinks
By: jimmy buffett
1979
Boat drinks
Boys in the band ordered boat drinks
Visitors scored on the home rink
Everything seems to be wrong

Lately, newspaper mentioned cheap air fare
I gotta to fly to saint somewhere
Im close to bodily harm

Twenty degrees and the hockey games on
Nobody cares they are way too far gone
Screamin boat drinks, something to keep em all warm

This mornin, I shot six holes in my freezer
I think I got cabin fever
Somebody sound the alarm

Id like to go where the pace of lifes slow
Could you beam me somewhere mr. scott?
Any ol place here on earth or in space
You pick the century and Ill pick the spot

Oh I know, (I know)
I should be leaving this climate
I got a verse but cant rhyme it
I gotta go where its warm

Boat drinks
Waitress I need two more boat drinks
Then Im headin south fore my dream shrinks

I gotta go where its warm (I gotta go where its warm)
I gotta go where its warm (I gotta go where its warm)
I gotta go where its warm!

I gotta go where there aint any snow
Where there aint any blow
cause my fin sinks so low
I gotta go where its warm
