Papa Joe Does it Again!

Romeoville, IL 02/12/2010   Average Turn Out and 2 tight games!
Attendance 22

Papa Joe etched a new entry into the Duffer History Book when he became the first Octogenarian to play in a Duffer game.  He not only played, but he scored another goal, when he fired a shot that was deflected past the Anvil by one of his own defensemen, (He will remain nameless, but his initials are Bill "Klinger" Giffune.)  After their 80 year old scored, the Whites went on to down the Reds, 3-2 in a thrilling meaningful contest.  Mr. Magoo gave the Reds an early lead on a nice pass from Tom "T&A" Ambrosia.  The Brain never had a chance on that 2 on Cone break away.  Thor beat The Anvil to tie

Hitman  with the German Olympic Curling team.

the game for a while until Tom "Big Buff" O'Connor  blew one past the Brain.  Papa Joe later tied it with the Klinger assist.  That tie lasted until late in the 3rd, when Brinks flipped one in to give the Whites a 3-2 Meaningful Win!  The Reds won the other contests with 2 goals from Jim "Rags" Ragland, solo goals by Mini Wheezer, BBTW and T&AMike "Rich Storm" Presecki had the only 2 meaningless goals for the Whites,

while he was inflecting some punishment on Mini Wheezer.  Nobody knows why he pounded the cute little M&M Icon, but the evening ended well when Mike handled the matter in the "Duffer Way."  He told Mini Wheezer that he couldn't apologize because he meant to trip him, but he offered to buy him a jumbo desert.  Mini Wheezer was "stoned" 3 times by the Brain (Not at BWW) when he was robbed with poster saves, but the Cute little guy was able to slip a couple past him.  Only one counted because Big Buff was off side on a line change.  Meaningless final: Reds 7, Whites 5.  The Reds took the BWW contest 10 to 6!  Papa's sons went to Wild Wings with the hope that their Dad would buy them a Birthday Beer, but Joe took his wife home

with the hope of slipping out when she fell asleep, but he never made it to Wild Wings.
The Rink has Cancelled our February 19th ice!

I didn't bring my camera, because I thought the Sun and The Romeoville Bugle would have bulbs

flashing for this historic event, so I have to go with Duffer Olympic File photos.  The Duffer Mean age was 52.55 years on February 1st.  Go to the Duffer Stats page to see the calculations.

Four Duffers at the Olympics

I was sorry to see that not one of the media sources took the time to cover this historic event and I didn't have my camera, so I thought I would dig some Salt Lake City Olympic file photos.
