2009 Cub-Sox Outing

We had a beautiful day for a ball game and a return of a Duffer tradition (Sort of) Before the Sox won their ring, I used to have no problem getting 15 to 20 Duffers cough up 35 dollars for a ticket to a Sox-Cub game. My high school would get 90 tickets, I would send out an e-mail and we would have a nice sized group. We had 16 in 2003, we had our best turn out in 2005 when we had 10 Cub fans and 10 Sox fans see Mark Prior return from the DL to beat Garland 2-0. When the Sox won the World Series, they quit giving my school a chance to buy tickets, so we did not go in 2006. The next year they changed their policy, but the price went up to $50, so no one replied and the same thing happened in 07. Klinger and I went in 2008, but this year Agi (Duffer Reff) ordered 2 and Brinks said he would take as many as I could get, since Cammi was throwing out the first pitch and Tony was in town for a family reunion. Maybe next year we can get a few more Duffers to come out. Tony said he will do this every year.

I went with the Sox background on this page, since they won this one, I did put my favorite baseball song in the background to make my Cub friends happy.


Cammi threw a strike to the catcher from the mound.	Cammi also threw out the first pitch at a Cub game after she won the Gold Medal for Hockey in 1998.



Ray and Cami's son Riley played catch with Rob's daughter in front of Sox park before the game.	When Riley was asked if he wanted to go in and watch the ball game, he said, "No, I want to play!"
