January 18, 2017. Wags Vs Guinness (Attendance 1)

I never got around to posting the December 17 Playoff win where Alec The Angel had 6 points to give us a semifinal playoff win. Alec got the new season off to a good start when he only used 33 seconds to give Wags a 1-0 lead. He made a nice move to score after taking a pass from Chris "Rooster" Roos. Shortly after that goal, Frank Cortez got tossed for taking Waghorne's legs out and causing a crash that registered a 5.6 on the Richter Scale. Dan "Da Coach" Lopatka and Mike


	We had a packed house watching Wags beat the Guinness.


	Atsallis set up Swede Roos to give Wags a 2-0 lead with 6:41 left in period one. Four minutes later, Noah Bosman cut the lead in half with a goal in the closing minutes of the period. Four minutes into period 2, Scott Meloun tied the game. It stayed tied for almost 5 minutes until Mike M&M Matker fired a shot that somehow found it's way through a maze of bodies and sticks and ended up going into the net. Kevin "Smooth as" Glass and Alec the Angel got assists on this tie breaking goal. One minute and 7 seconds, later "Rooster" Roos made it 4-2 with assists from Chris "the Bull" Schultz and M&M Matker. Jimmy Laslo was able to cut the lead to 4-3 before the period ended. M&M Mike made it 5-3 with 10:05 left in the game when he was set up by Alec "The Angel" D'Angelo. It looked like we would cruise to a victory with that 2 goal lead, but Scott Meloun scored his second goal with 5:50 left to play. The last 5 minutes required Ed "The Wall" Waghorne to come up big to preserve the lead. The Guinness pulled their goalie with 2 minutes left in the game and Ed faced more rubber than a dead skunk on the freeway. Ed made several great saves to pick up the win. Jay "Roadrunner" Demario played defense, but he wants blocked shots posted on the web page. He claimed that he blocked 10 shots! He almost had a goal early when he hit a post. Matt "The Swatter" Swastek did a fine job teaching the Roadrunner how to play defense. Chris Shultz did a great job breaking up three 2 on ones. Ed "The Wall" Waghorne made
