	42 Penalty Minutes!


	January 25, 2017. Wags Vs Crooked Stix (Attendance 2) The first 7 minutes of the game was fast and scoreless until Matt "Dhooghe's cousin" Swastek fired a shot from the point that Chris "Rooster" Roos tipped in to give Wags a 1-0 lead. 5 minutes later, Tory "Snuffy" Snick added 2 goals in 34 seconds. His first goal was set up by the Rooster and He scored right off of the face off with a pass from Tommy Z to give Wags a 3-0 lead late in the first period. Crooked Cosmo scored 2 quick goals for the Crooked Stix to shake up the Wags players who were on cruise control. Eleven seconds later, Alec "The An

	gel" Deangelo took a pass from Tommy Zagorski and restored the 2 goal lead. Two minutes later, Esposito scored to make it close again, but 21 seconds later, The Angel struck again to make it 5-3. Things settled down after that until Mike "M&M" Matker got called for holding Nick Esposito. Espo took offence and threw a punch. Both players were ejected with 5:19 left to play in period 2. I don't know what Mike was holding to get ejected. Wags went back on cruise control with a 2 goal lead until Cosmo Vivirito, scored 2 goals to tie the game at 5-5. The tying goal was a power play while Jay "Roadrunner" Demario was in the sin bin for roughing. I can't believe Cosmo's Mom named him after Cosmo Kramer on Seinfeld. If you were a big fan, you might name the kid Jerry or even George, but not Cosmo. That is like naming your kid Sue just to make him tough. With 3 minutes left in the game, the Roadrunner Jay ran the goalie and a fight ensued. Most hockey players know that you can't win a fight with the guy that has the most protective padding on the ice. Goalies also have a blocker that serves as a weapon in a fight. Jay found that out when he got a blocker sandwich as soon as the fight started. Both players were ejected and the Crooked Stix had to play the last 3 minutes without a goalie. Joe "Bro Joe" Matker took advantage of that and scored a goal to give Wags the lead with 2:33 left to play, but The Crooked Stix scored the tying goal with 1:56 left to play. The game ended in a 6-6 tie. Ed "The Wall" Waghorne argued for overtime or a shootout, but most of the team was happy just to go get off of the ice and have a beer.


	Ed "The Wall" Waghorne made 29 Saves while The Crooked Stix goalie had to make 31. Wags had 23 penalty minutes while the Crooked guys only had 19. I had a great weekend watching Matt's cousins and the Badgers beat the Nittany Lions twice.

Badger Coach Granato took time to show us how to play hockey.	He used the computer and the White board.
We caught up with Blackhawk coach Granato.	Joe Pavelski took advantage of the All Star Break.
We saw 2 thrilling wins by the Badger Men. This shoot out save won the game on Saturday.	On Saturday afternoon, we saw Sid Crosby's sister stop 54 Badger shots. Baylee Wellhausen had 3 assist in the 4-0 win.
