Macro invertebrates
Naperville Community Unit School District 203
October 13, 2005
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County has a great program that helps Teachers and Students study the water quality using macro invertebrates.
(Little spineless creatures that can be seen without a microscope)
On October 13, 2005, Ms. Kouri took her 4th and 5th graders to the west branch of the DuPage River. They found a diversity of macro invertebrates that indicated that the water quality was in fair condition. See the worksheet at the bottom of the page. |
