Hats Off for Big Buff & Mini!

Romeoville, IL 04/30/2010     The Anvil Bounces Back!
Attendance 26

Thor Miller, was silenced again by Eddie the Anvil, who had one of his finest games.  The game started out poorly for him when Bill BTW skated in and scored on the opening face off.  Bill added another goal later in the first period, but after that, The Anvil shut down the Whites and gave his team a chance to get back in the game.  Tommy "TZ" Zagorski cut the lead in half with a low shot through a crowd.  Tom "Big Buff" O'Connor then scored two goals on his next shift to give the Reds a 3-2 lead and they never looked back.  Mini Wheezer added a pair late in the second to put the Reds up 5-2.

Big Buff picked up his Hat Trick to give the Reds a 6-2 lead going into the third period.  Tom "T&A" Ambrosia finally solved Eddie to give the Whites hope, but Mini Wheezer dashed those hopes with a Hat Trick of his own!  Beak poked a puck that was sitting next to the net out to TZ who flipped it past the Brain for an 8-3 lead.  Bill "The Alien" Allen added insult to injury when he poked one in for the Reds.  The strangest goal of the season came when the 2 Bionic Duffers, Stump and Beak, collided 15 feet in front of the Brain's net.  Beak's stick went flying past the Brain and into the net.  While Brian was dodging the stick, Bill " The Maestro" Conti fired a low off net pass to Jim "Rags" Ragland who tipped it in to seal the 10-3 win for Eddie and the Reds.

Reds 10
Whites 3
The Reds also won the Meaningful contest 4-0
The goal totals for 2010 are Reds 85, Whites 85

Eddie took advantage of the Sunday afternoon practice ice to sharpen up his skills.  Thanks to Mini Wheezer for arranging that practice for us.  Beak brought the Strohs that was left over from his February Birthday and Geno brought us a second goalie.  Since we didn't have a coach, we skated 4 on 4 with one sub on the bench and both goalies faced more rubber than a dead skunk on the freeway.  The Anvil lost a lot of sleep when he

found out that he would have to wear White on Saturday Night in the MLF game.

I wish your Team could drink water the way they drank beer in Nashville as Broadway St is under water from the river to 2nd street in Nashville and as far south as you can see. I am told the football stadium and the ice rink is under water as well.

 I haven’t been downtown yet.

Come and back and visit our waterfront bars.
