The Start of Our 39th Year!

Joe Evans Scores his First Goal!

We started our 39th Season with plenty of excitement.  Thor continued his hot streak by scoring the first 2 goals for the Whites.  Brian took a shut out into the second period and was reminded by Beak that in 39 years, there has never been a shut out on opening night.  That record was secured early in the 2nd period when Tweedy set up his Dad with a goal mouth pass that Beak buried to cut the lead in half.  Joe "Face Plant" Evans tied the game a few minutes later when Tweedy set him up.  Joe took the pass on the right wing then fired a one timer that hit the far post and caromed into the net.  His Brother in law, Bill BTW gave the Reds a 3-2 lead on the next shift when Tom "T&A" Ambrosia gave Bill a beautiful pass.  Tweedy  joined in the fun and made it 4-2 when he took an outlet pass from his Dad and went coast to coast and slipped it past the Brain.  Tweedy scored again to give the Anvil

Bill By The Way was presented with the .

and the Reds a 5-2 lead.  Brinks then teamed up with His cousin Steve and Tom "Dimples" Zagorski to get the Whites back into the game.  He matched Thor's 2 goals to make it 5-4.  The Brain foiled Beak's second goal when he kicked out his wrist shot, but Tweedy's friend Kevin Rench grabbed the rebound and gave the Reds a 6-4 lead.  That goal turned out to be the game winner when Viorel "Tomato seed" Tamasi made it 6-5 on a pass from Dimples Zagorski.  Tweedy pick up an insurance goal to make the final Meaningless score 7-5.  The Whites took the meaningful contest 4-1.  That was expected since all of the meaningful players (5) except for Beak were on White team.

The First edition of the Nashville DVD sold out on the first night. Beak is now taking orders for the 2nd edition.  Premier showing will be at Franks on Thursday, when Nick's food comes to Lisle.
