Welcome to

Huskies Win it All!

The Huskie Bantam Black team coached by Steve Johnson, won the Father Time Holiday Tournament at 7 Bridges Ice Rink for the second year in a row.
The Huskies Lose a heart Breaker, 2-1
12/26/98 7 Bridges Ice Rink.
Brandon Johnson scored the only goal as the Bloomingdale Hockey Club won a hard fought game, 2-1

The Huskies are Tied in the final Seconds

12/27/98--Pat Callahan scored on a pass from Mike Lopatka and Brandon Johnson converted a pass from Bob Cassio to give the Huskies a 2-1 lead.  St. Jude pulled their goalie with one minute to play and survived several attacks on their open net.  Just when it seemed that they were doomed, they fired a shot  with 3 seconds left in the game and Dan Waszak made the stop, only to have it pop over his head and roll across the goal line for the tie.  St. Jude won 3-2 in a shoot out.

The Huskies Stomp the Joliet Jaguars 7-0

12/28/98 Dan Waszak not only shut out the Jaguars, but he also assisted Jeff Adams on one of his 2 goals.  Mike Lopatka dug a puck out of the corner and walked it out into the slot as all of the defenders picked up the wingers and left Mike all alone in the slot, and he buried it for an unassisted goal.
Tony Rante set up Brandon Johnson's goal, then scored one of his own when he was assisted by Peter  Tomchuck.
Jeff Griffin picked up 2 assists when he set the table for Ed Chen and Joe Eberhardt for a final score of Huskies 7, Jaguars 0

Dan Waszak Shuts Out the Wolves 1-0

12/29/98 The Huskies finished 4th in their division, so they had the unenviable task of playing the undefeated team from the other division on Tuesday morning.
The Wolves had few quality chances as the Huskies really stepped up their defensive effort.  Pat McGrath and Justin Stevens broke up several scoring chances.  The Huskies had several good opportunities, but couldn't capitalize until the third period when Joe Eberhardt flipped a pass to Brandon Johnson who fired a wicked wrist shot past the Wolves for the only goal of the game.  Dan Waszak was able to turn everything away as he notched his second straight shut out, 1-0.

Dan Waszak Shuts Out the Huskie Reds 2-0

12/30/98    Before the Championship game began, a Huskies win was guaranteed.  That is because The Huskie Red advanced by beating St. Jude and the Huskie Black downed the Wolves.

The Winners of the Father Time Tourney

Lenny Jacobs gave Dan Waszak the only goal he needed in the first period when he was set up by Jeff Griffin and Ed Chen.
Pat Callahan scored an insurance goal in the second period when a pass from Joey Eberhardt sprung him free.    Dan Waszak shut the door on every opportunity and was named most valuable player for the second year in a row.  Dan shut out 3 different opponents for a total of 9 periods.
