The Anvil Goes Both Ways!

Romeoville, IL
September 14, 2012

Attendance: 15

14 skaters and 1 goalie produce a weird Game!
We went from 22 guys with perfect attendance down to 13!  Even worse, Stump could not find 2 goalies.  In a desperate move at game time, Beak went into the Rampage locker room when they were changing out of their hockey gear hoping to talk Brandi into playing for us.  He was turned down because she had to go to her Dad's birthday party. He said he cov

Thor was back and celebrated with a Brinks  beer.

ered his eyes while he was in their locker room. The Anvil, our only goalie, started out protecting the net for the Red team, while the Whites added an extra attacker who hung around the net and tried not to get hit.  Half way through the first period, Eddie switched over to be the goalie for the White team leaving the Reds to add a skater to cover their net.  The Czar looked like he enjoyed playing goalie.  His style could be best described as a kneel down goalie.  He did better than most, because while kneeling, his shoulders almost came up the crossbar. The game ended in a 7-7 tie, with meaningful goals going to Brinks, Thor, Beak, Geno and Magoo.  I don't remember much more and T&A was not there to send me some names.  What I do remember was that the perfect attendance count dropped from 22 down to 13. The following Duffers have perfect attendance:  Anvil, Beak, Bill BTW, Bookie, Brinks, Czar, Geno, Greg Z, Mr. Magoo, Nick, Crash Nance, Tommy Z, and V-Man .
The September 22nd Picnic may set an all time record in futility!
Tom Ambrosia , who brought a cooler, 4 cases of pop,  2 cases of water and bag toss last year will not be able to help this year. Bill Conti, who brought us a  case of corn, 2 lbs of butter, 5 bags of ice & cooler.  Also called in sick for the picnic.  Thor who always brought the picnic sign will be golfing in Michigan.  The Czar  got a call from his boss ordering him to attend October Fest in Germany this weekend, so he will not be able to pre

sent the Meaningless trophy.
No Ice on Friday 9/21/12

Vidas, our Seattle Dentist is flying in on Friday hoping to play with us.  He will attend  the picnic.

Geno was back in Red, but still scored on Eddie.
