Welcome to

After looking at the Duffer History Page it was discovered that poor attendance is cyclical. Here is a quote from the History page on October 21, 2011 : "It happened again, for the second time in 3 weeks, only 14 skaters showed up and players were forced to take Harvey like shifts."

We had 29 guys show up!  Thank You

There is no ice on November 2nd

Attendance: 29

Grandpa Beak edges the Grandsons by a Nose!
After complaining for weeks about the poor attendance, we had a big turn out that included 5 SODS and 2 GODS and a WOD with 2 Great Grandchildren in the stands.  Beak talked his Grandsons into coming out to boost the sagging attendance and Bill BTW brought out a pair of Gyms (Make that 2 guys named Jim) We had a fast game with mostly quick line changes. (We only had to remind Harvey twice that we didn't need 8 minute shifts this week) Beak's grandsons put on white sweaters and joined their uncle Dan (Tweedy) They probably figured that going Red to help their 72 year old grandpa to a victory was a lost cause.  Their thinking appeared to be accurate as their uncle Dan beat the Anvil twice

T&A teamed up with Nick to give the Reds a thrilling win.

to give the Whites an early 2-0 lead. Tweedy doesn't usually score early, but He was ticked off when Tommy Z was laughing at him when the Bookie picked his pocket on the previous rush up the ice. Brinks had an assist on one of Tweedy's goals. Guest Jim #2 scored a nice goal that was set up by Nick the Prick to make it 2-1.  Jim scored that goal while wearing The Alien's Red Jersey!   Greg Z went on to get a pair of goals for the Whites too. Tweedy had an assist on Greg's 1st goal that came from a pass from behind the goal line to Greg  in the slot in the 1st period.  Thomas (t&a) had an assist on Greg's second goal. Nick scored his first of 2 goals on a break away to cut the lead to 4-2.  T&A set up Nick's second goal in the second period when he took a shot from the left point and Nick put in the rebound beating The Brain.  The Whites' 5th goal came from t&a on a gift from the Bookie and it looked bad for Grandpa Beak's Red squad as they fell behind 5-3 in the third period, but Tommy Z sent Cowboy Joe a pass that he fired on the ice through a crowd that the Brain never saw until it was in the back of the net.  As the clock ticked down, Beak had a talk with Tommy Z, who seldom tries to score, as he a great example for the teenaged Duffers who suddenly discover that they can score at will and embarrass the old timers.  TZ  always prefers to set up his teammates rather than shoot. Beak told him that he could score 2 goals since Tweedy scored two goals early.  Tommy went out and tied the game when T&A sprung him for a break away goal. Then he got the game winner  with a shin guard break away thanks to a hard shot by the Czar with 52 seconds left to play!  Brinks thought they had 6 goals, but no one was able to claim that missing goal, so the Reds were declared a 6-5 winner at Wild Wings.  They also won the Meaningful game 1-0 thanks to Cowboy Joe.  Grandson Jeff rang up a cross bar that woke up everybody in the rink, but it went up and out of play.
Memorable Moments: The Bookie had a Klinger Krash and later had a brain freeze when he slowly stick handled in front of the Anvil where t&a poked in an easy 2 footer.

We had the biggest turn out of the year. With 29 guys out there, I was ready to go home for Turkey after the game. Beak had 2 great grandkids watching the game. We never needed an Acronym for Duffer Great Grandchildren until now. We had 5 SODs (Sons of Duffers) and 2 GODs  (Grandsons of Duffers) playing in this game, can you name them?

We also has a WOD in the Stands.

The Alien made his first appearance since he was sidelined by a concussion
The perfect attendance count dropped from 3 down to 2. Only
Beak and Brinks have perfect Attendance.

T&A had 3 assists and Nick had 2 goals.
