Poor Turn Out, Good Workout!

We had to play 4 on 4 Again!
Some guys had a good excuse because the I-55 expressway was shut down in both directions until 9:00.  A woman was hit by a southbond car and she landed on the northbound side.  She is in serious condition at Good Samaritan Hospital.  (Full report is on Page 2)
The Reds won the Meaningful game 1-0 as Geno the Genie pulled out a shot from his magic lantern. Harvey set him up!  Crash Nance had 2

The Duffers were well represented at the USA U-18 vs. Steel game

for the Reds and the Bookie  tapped in a great pass from Tommy Z, but 4 goals was all they could muster while the Whites were scoring 6.  Nick The Prick scored 2 early goals and was told to stop shooting and pass the puck.  He never stopped shooting until he got his hat trick, then he looked ashamed. Now you know how he got his moniker.  Drago, A.K.A. Face Plant continued his hot streak by blasting a shot at The Anvil, then firing the rebound into the net.  Beak had a similar chance on his son Tweedy early in the game when TZ set him up for a one timer that Tweedy kicked right out and on to Beak's stick.  Beak fired an ice hugger that Tweedy flopped on and prevented the incest goal. The Whites had 2 other forgettable goals, but nobody could remember them or claim them.  Does that mean the game ended in a 4-4 tie?

Memorable Moments

  • Drago lived up to his Scoring Machine status.  Read about his hockey lessons.
  • MVP Brinks was back and brought us beer!  Thanks Don!
  • We had 2 Final Scores: Reds 1, Whites 0 (Meaningful), Whites 6, Reds 4 (Meaningless)
  • We had a good turn out to support Donny G's USA team on Saturday night.
  • Beer on Friday, beer on Saturday, rest on Sunday, beer at Tom and Dan's game on Monday, beer, and T&A on Wednesday at lunch, then beer and hockey on Thursday and Friday.  Life is good!

An Illinois State Trooper and a 25-year-old woman are recovering Saturday morning after both were injured in a car accident Friday evening on Interstate 55 near southwest Lemont.
The incident happened in the southbound lanes of I-55 around 5:25 p.m. when the woman went to pick up her boyfriend, who was waiting with the Trooper, according to State Police. The boyfriend had been waiting for a tow truck to pick up his car near Woodward Avenue in Lemont, State Police said.
The woman and her boyfriend were walking back to her car when another car traveling south on I-55 hit the woman, State Police said. The woman was thrown into the northbound lanes, according to a news release from state police, and the car continued traveling south and struck a squad car with a trooper inside.
The woman was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, where she was listed in serious condition, State Police said. The trooper was treated and released from an area hospital.
Investigators continued Friday night to piece together what caused the car to hit the woman and the squad car.
North and south lane on I-55 south of Woodward Avenue were closed, but all lanes were reopened by 9 p.m.

I couldn't have my kid with a newer car than me, so I bought a 2011 Prius.
