Meaningful Shutout for BTW!

Bill BTW got the Meaningful Win!
Tommy "TZ" usually goes easy on the Anvil and The Brain, but when he sees Tweedy in the net, he cranks early and often.  That set the tone for a fast paced game where Bill By The Way lost the coin toss to Rags and he was sentenced to play goalie and sub for The Anvil who was summoned to spend the night in a sewer someplace.
Magoo took a beautiful pass from Terry and beat Tweedy for the only Meaningful goal of the night.  For all you young hockey players out there, a meaningful goal is a goal scored by a Duffer who is older than the Mean Age of the "Dues paying" Duffers.  If you passed Statistics 101, you would know the three M words. Mead (Average) Mode (Most Frequent) and Median (Middle).  The Mean age took a hit when 83 year

Bill BTW looked good in Jimmy Bones' pads.

old Papa Joe retired last year.  When The Czar gets all of the dues in, we can calculate an exact Meaningful age for this season.  The Original Wheezer was usually just above the Mean age and he will be 60 on March 15.  I'm going with 60 as the Meaningful age until all of the ages are calculated.  TZ was able to pick up a hat trick for the Reds.  Chris "Berserk" scored the other meaningless goal to give the Whites 5 total goals.  Greg "Circus" Zerkis matched TZ's Hat Trick when he scored the game winner in the final minutes of the game. V-Man, Rags and The Czar each scored a goal to account for the other 3 White goals to give the Whites a thrilling 6-5 win over Bill BTW and the Reds.  Final score Whites 6, Reds  5.  Bill BTW picked up the Meaningful 1-0 shutout.               

Memorable Moments: 

  • Bill BTW made his goal tending debut. When he made a save and fell on his Butt, the Reds failed to capitalize on Tweedy who was doubled over in laughter after that spill.
  • Magoo's tip of a Terry pass.
  • Tweedy stacking the pads on his dear old Dad many times.
  • Beak had a kick pass that set up TZ's wrap around goal and Harvey also made a pass to Tommy for a goal.

  • Ken Kroll and Steve Hammerquist brought another bottle of CR.

The following 5 Duffers have Perfect Attendance: Beak, Terry, Fruitcake, Hacksaw, and Magoo. 

Harvey bought a new stick that needs an extension.

Remember when? This was 2002 at the Cammi Granato fund raiser for Ronald McDonald Charity.  These kids were in charge of the Beat the Duffer Goalie Game.  Kids paid money to shoot the puck in the Stump's 5 hole.  (Left to Right) Frankie Jura who is Duffer Referee Agi's daughter, Michelle Spillman, Maddi, Stump Board and Jeff Lopatka.  We should find that Stump board for the next time we have a goalie walk out.
