6 years ago, when Ryan Dzingel just turned 20 years old, He skated with the Duffers when we went to Columbus. Ryan is now 26 years old and he scored his 22nd and 23rd goals on the last day of the season. That tied him for the most goals for the Ottawa Senators. I just wish that Ryan Dzingel's grandpa Rich could be here enjoying Ryan's great success. Lung cancer took Rich away before Ryan was born. I played football with Rich at Holy Trinity High School in the late 1950s. Rich never played hockey, but I was able to persuade him into getting his sons some Franklin skates so that they could play hockey on my back yard rink. Ryan's Dad Rick went on to play hockey with the Duffers Hockey club and he skated in the San Jose Shark Tank with us. He got Ryan into hockey as a mite and the rest is history. 	20 Goal Fun Filled Game!


	Sunday, April 8, 2017. Wags Vs Rangers (Attendance 2) When you win by 8 goals, you don't think it could have been a come from behind win, but that is what happened on this poorly attended Sunday night game. The Rangers had 2 full lines plus while Wags only had 9 skaters who started out conserving their energy as the took a 2-0 lead late into the first period. Things were looking bleak until Mike "N.H." Atsalis scored an unassisted goal with 3:21 left in the period. Two minutes later, Tommy Z banged in a Bara Kuta rebound to tie the game. Then a game changing goal happened with 33 seconds left in the period. Chris "Rooster" Roos stunned the ranger goalie with a blistering wrist shot that hit him in the center of the cage. TZ was right there for the easy tap in. The Ranger goalie did not know where he or the puck was. Five minutes into the 2nd period, Wags added 2 quick goals. The first one was set up by Joe "Bro" Matker when he kept the puck in the zone and sent it to Matt "Swatter" Swastek who fired it to Rooster Roos for a beautiful tip in at 10:57.


	Ed was awarded the MVP Glowing Rod.


	Twenty seconds later Mike "M&M" Matker set up a goal for Kevin "Smooth as" Glass that gave Wags a 5-2 lead. It looked like the Ranger's big guy got sent to the penalty box for high sticking. Instead of Wags adding to the lead with the power play, they gave up 2 shorthanded in 30 seconds and Waghorne made a great save to prevent a 3rd shorthanded goal that would have tied the game. With 6:45 left in period 2, Jack "The Ripper" Iandoli made an end to end rush capped off with a top shelf wrist shot bullet goal. After that goal, Joe's girl friend asked "why isn't that guy in the NHL?" That 6-4 lead only lasted 40 seconds until a sharp shooting Ranger scored to cut the lead back to one goal. After that goal, Wags added 3 late goals to finish the 2nd period. New Hampshire Mike made it 7-5 wit an assist going to Jack the Ripper. The Rooster scored on a pass from Bara Kuta and Joe the Bro scored an unassisted goal to make it 9-5 after 2 periods of play. Joe added another unassisted goal early in the 3rd period to start the 5 goal running


	clock rule. Wags added 4 more goals before the final horn. Tommy Z got his hat trick at 8:11 on an assist from Chris Roos. The Glass man scored and unassisted goal with 5:13 left and M&M added 2 more with assists going to Jack, N.H. Mike and Glass. The Rangers added a very meaningless goal with 2 minutes and 2 seconds left in the game. Ed The Wall Waghorne made 27 saves in one of his finest games while the Ranger goalie made 26.
