Baylee Bails out the Whites

Romeoville, IL

Nice Turn Out, Great Game!
Brinks brought out his 15 year old step Granddaughter (His Son in law Kevin's Daughter Baylee) The White team was loaded with high scoring Duffers, so Tweedy and Tommy Z put on Red jerseys to even up the sides. The game started out with a goal by Tweedy, but that lead only lasted until Art took a pass from Landry's guest Keith and tucked it past the Anvil as he ran him over.  Art was not hurt, as he landed softly on the well padded goalie. Tweedy put the Reds up 3-1 when he quickly scored a pair. The 15 year old Baylee cut the lead with her first goal.  Magoo gave the Reds a 4-2 lead with a Meaningful goal set up by Tweedy. Doc cut the lead to 4-3 with a spectacular tally. It looked like Baylee tied it up when she avoided a blue line pile up that occurred when Magoo's guest, Keith The Fireman, (We didn't know if we should call him Hose A or Hose B) was trying to stay on side, but The Czar ran into him and pushed him into the zone.  Baylee flew in and fired one past Eddie, but the goal was not counted. She was not discouraged, as she set up Grandpa Brinks to tie it at 4-4.  Tweedy beat the Brain for the 4th time to give the Reds a late 5-4 lead.

T&A has a thought, Art does too.

Tweedy told his Dad, "I have 4 now, I can't score again, TZ needs a goal."  Tommy was busy setting up his wingers that were shooting like the gang that couldn't shoot straight. (Dimples got a minus 5 for his efforts.)  Baylee tied it 2 minutes later and then scored the game winner with 5 seconds left in the game.
Final score:  Whites 6, Reds 5.  The Meaningful score was 1-1.  After 2 periods, Beak told Baylee that she was better than her dad.  She laughed and went on to score a Hat Trick.  Remember her name, Baylee Wellhausen.  She played 62 games for Shattuck-St. Mary's Prep School in Minnesota and had 62 points with 33 goals and 29 assists.  In a few years, the 23 guys who showed up on Friday may be able to say they played with another Olympic star.

The Czar says our season should start on September 9, 2011 if his contract demands are met.

Tweedy got a Hat plus one

I didn't take any pictures this week, so here are some file photos of the guys who showed up.

Tim "Basketball Jones" will always be with us

Geno can't forget that save Brandi made on him in April

T&A and Art are thinking.

Wayne The Bookie.JPG (182373 bytes)

The Bookie had a fine game

Fatso_T.jpg (215550 bytes)

Terry had a clean break away foiled by the lazy teenaged linesmen.  He let them have an earful.

Stump was throwing his weight around.

Tommy Z had a frustrating night setting up wingers who couldn't shoot straight.

Papa had a few chances and Doc scored.  Coughenhour called in sick and Muzzy stayed home.

The Anvil was spectacular, Elton was so proud when he received his text message from Eddie.Eddie and Elton.jpg (176263 bytes)

Beak played with 2 ear infections and spent the night trying not to have a Klinger Krash.  The beer went well with his medication.

Beachball Brain.jpg (137656 bytes)

The Brain had an average Duffer night.  (you can't get more than 5 inflated beech balls in the net)

Einstein[1].JPG (278607 bytes)

Klinger had a cerebral game trying to stay out of Baylee's way.

goalie-fish.jpg (155751 bytes)

Our goalies wished they were fishing.

Tweedy made the Brain wish he was fishing.

Love_Guru's.jpg (323310 bytes)

The Bookie and Mini Wheezer were teammates, so there were no fireworks.

Frank had the toughest job. (Watching Duffers play hockey for 90 minutes is not easy.

Art and the Brain were having a Happy Day. (Sod Buster retired years ago)

Magoo scored a nice goal after a long shift.

MRG.jpg (103698 bytes)

Brinks was brilliant as usual, scoring on a pass from his granddaughter and bringing us plenty of beer.

BigLittleEnos.jpg (98519 bytes)

I can never decide which picture of Stump to use, so I used several.  This one goes well with the Brinks and Smokey picture.

Kevin Rench was good, but he failed to talk Tweedy into some Wild Wings.

The Maestro had his hands full covering their speedy wingers.

Papa Joe and Cowboy Joe had some fun, but Papa failed to show up for the post game beers.  Who does that?

czar copy.jpg (79042 bytes)

Port-a-John had trouble keeping up with his speedy wingers.

czar_Mikey.jpg (173012 bytes)

The Czar saved a goal by pushing our guest off side.

I had the best Father's Day ever as I watched my Granddaughter Michelle's Revolution Elite Softball team go undefeated in the 12th Annual Heritage USSSA State Tournament. They got contributions from every player to win in 3 come from behind games.
