Mini Wheezer sees the Light!

Romeoville, IL
December 28, 2012

Attendance: 19

MVP goes to Brinks!
Brinks had Cammi in town and he had a house full of people, so he couldn't play, but he kept his perfect Beer delivery record in tact!  Don delivered a  cooler bag full of beer before the game then went home to party.  Thanks Don.  The Whites missed your usual scoring punch and had to depend on Thor for the only meaningful goal.  Reds won that contest 2-1 when Beak and O'Connor beat the Brain.

Tommy Z was passing like crazy and had 4 or 5 assists.  He started

T&A made it to the Kilt, then missed the game.

on the first shift when he sent a perfect pass to Beak, who flipped a one timer over the Brain's shoulder to give the Reds an early lead. Brian said that Fred deserved an assist on that goal because he made him go to "Braille Goal Tending". Mini Wheezer took a pass from TZ and made it 2-0.  Johnny "B" Bocain cut the lead in half when he beat Tweedy like a rented mule.  Terry "Crash" Nance set up Ton "TO" O'Connor to give the Reds a 3-1 lead.  Between the 1st and 2nd period, the lights in the rink increased their intensity by 1000 Lumens!  It turned out that the Brain went to the desk and complained that he was having a problem seeing the puck.  The increased brightness worked as both goalies were tossing shutouts until Mini Wheezer blew that theory with his second goal with 5 minutes left in period number 2.  Thor then beat Tweedy in the final minute when the Bookie fanned on a clearing attempt of a puck in the slot.  Tweedy started laughing as Thor banged it past him to end the period with the Reds leading 4-2. The increased luminosity seamed to help the shooters in the third period as 5 goals were scored. The Czar blew one past Tweedy for the Whites' 3rd goal, but Mini Wheezer picked up his hat trick with another TZ assist. TZ  then set up Terry for a 6-3 lead.  Tommy Z finally took a shot and it went in.  Bill "The Maestro" Conti added insult to injury by scoring his first goal since opening night when he got the first goal of the season.  Reds 8, Whites 3

Memorable Moments

  • TZ shot Thor in the balls in warm ups.  Tom bought him a beer later.
  • The Czar dinged Tweedy's cup then slipped a shot through his 5 hole.
  • Greg Z had to listen to Thor and Beak talk about the Duffer Train trip to Lake Placid in 1982.  He wants to go on a Duffer train trip.  The King was  working on a train trip to the City of New Orleans.  We were singing that Steve Goodman song every week at the bar.  We knew most of the words.
  • Nick the Prick played a Duffer style game. (He was passing like his Daddy taught him)
