14 Goals and 5 Klinger Krashes!

Romeoville, IL
March 15, 2013

Attendance: 22

Six Unanswered Goals!
Twelve guys came out wearing Red, so the Czar sent the Mazzarella Brothers packing and off to the White team so that each team had 10 players.  The Reds got a little creative by rotating 3 defensemen and skating 3 right wings.  The strategy worked for half of a game, as the Reds built a 5-3 lead with goals by Nick the Prick (2), Mini Wheezer (2) and one by the Czar, who fired a wrist shot from the blue line right past the Brain.

t&a's goal looked like a turtle.

Bobka was a plus 3! Tweedy and Johnny B had 2 assists each. The Anvil was able to hold the speedy Whites to 3 goals by the Ambrosia father and son team. Dad had 2 set up by his son and Tommy Z. Little t&a had one set up by his Dad.  T&A added 2 more to tie it.  Kevin "Meat" Rench screened the Anvil on both goals.  Then things got ugly when Meat scored and gave the Whites a 6-5 lead with 35 seconds left in period two.  Dylan dropped the puck for the ensuing face off with 5 seconds left on the running clock.  Nobody moved when t&a slid a slow shot toward Eddie, who thought the period was over, so he lifted his paddle as the puck came crawling by.  He was startled when he heard the horn go off and the Reds were now down 7-5.  Joe Maz added insult to injury in the third when he scored the only meaningful goal of the night.  Berserk  made it 9-5 when he popped one in.   Whites 9, Reds 5 Meaningful Score, Whites 1, Reds: 0

  Memorable Moments:

  • Johnny B and BBTW collided for a Klinger Crash in the 3rd period.
  • Geno bloodied his nose and rattled his eye on Berserk's shoulder.  He came off, wiped the blood off of his shield, took his eye out and wiped it off then returned to the ice.  Mini almost puked when he saw that.
  • Steve Maz had two self inflected Klinger Krashes.
  • Hayward talk was positive and laugh filled.  The Czar likes the idea of a trip there in 2014
  • Ryan Dzingel took the team lead with 37 points and is second with 22 assists. He has a point in 14 of the last 17 games.  They defeated Ferris State, 3-2, in game three of the CCHA tournament quarterfinal series. The victory gives the Buckeyes the series win and the squad moves on to the CCHA semifinals,

where they will take on No. 2 seed Notre Dame Saturday in Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. No. 1 seed Miami will face No. 4 seed Michigan in the other semifinal.

Anyone want to go to Detroit?

Potential Donor,

I am writing you today to ask for your help for a dear friend and dedicated coach. As some of you may

know, this past January Rick Dzingel, Varsity Coach for Wheaton Academy High School, DTA hitting

instructor & 16U DTA Wildcats Coach, was diagnosed with stage III cancer. He underwent surgery in

February to remove his tonsils and lymph nodes to try to determine the origin of the disease and,

unfortunately, will need to undergo two to three months of chemo and radiation at University of

Chicago.

Rick and his wife Linda have lived in Wheaton for 15 years with their three children: Rick Jr. (23), Ryan

(21), and Dana (15). Rick has been an active participant/coach in youth and high school sports for many

years assisting with local little leagues, travel teams and currently at Wheaton Academy High School

where he has been on the varsity staff for the past 9 years. Rick has spent countless hours helping

children fulfill their dreams in baseball. At this time, we ask that you join DTA in our efforts to assist the

Dzingel family by alleviating as much of the financial burden as possible while Rick faces his battle with

cancer.

The Rick Dzingel fund has been set up at the West Suburban Bank in Lombard. Your generous donation

will flow directly to this fund. In addition, DuPage Training Academy will be hosting a Sports Fun Fest

Fundraiser/Buffet Dinner on April 6, 2013 @ 5:30 assist with the fundraising efforts.

All checks should be made out to Rick Dzingel and mailed to:

West Suburban Bank

711 S. Westmore

Lombard, IL 60148

If you wish to donate items or assist with the fundraising event, please email Jeff Kramer at

jkramer20@aol.com.

Thank you in advance for your donations and generosity. Please keep the Dzingel family in your

thoughts and prayers.
