Slow Game, Lots of Ice Time!

Romeoville, IL
March 29, 2013

Attendance: 17

No Goals Reported!
I received 3 e-mails to help me write the 707th edition of the Duffer News.  T&A wrote to tell me he was at the Hawk game and could not help me.  Greg Z reported that it was a slow game with lots of ice time. Geno reported that he gave the beer bag to Tom A who will bring the beer next week.  I'm as confused as you are.
Reds ?, Whites ?.   Meaningful Score, Whites ?, Reds ?

Sid Crosby with Dan and Luke.

  Memorable Moments:

  • Geno Brought the Beer to the Senior locker room.
  • Don't forget the April 6th fundraiser for Ryan's Dad Rick who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
  • You can send a check made out to Rick Dzingel to West Suburban Bank,

Pittsburgh Revisited!
Last month Rags told me he had Skybox tickets for the March 30th game in Pittsburgh.  I told him I would drive 7 hours to watch the Penguins play.  I asked my son Dan if he wanted to go and he jumped on it since he missed the 2011 Pittsburgh trip.  He was able to get away when he told Sabine that he would take their 5 year old son, Luke.  I saw Pittsburgh was playing Winnipeg on Thursday, so when I told Tony G that we were coming to town, he got us a room at the Cambria Suites Hotel and 3 tickets for the Jets' game and 2 for the Islander game on Saturday.  (I didn't need one on Saturday thanks to Rags) Tony gave us passes to get into the locker room after the games.  I got a great picture of Luke with Sid Crosby after Thursday's game.  On Friday, we went to watch the Penguins practice at the Isoplex Rink.  The place was packed.  Friday night, Rags came over to our room and helped us finish off a few beers while we watched the Hawks lose.  On Saturday, I was in the skybox while Dan was in the Bob Uecker seats.  When the Skybox owner saw my picture of Luke and Crosby, he pulled out 2 more Skybox tickets for them.  After the game we saw Coach Dan Bylsma and I said, Hey aren't you Dave Hansen?

He gave me that same look that he gave me two years ago when I asked him that same question.  Tony started laughing then Coach Bylsma started laughing.  He wanted to know when the Duffers were

coming back. We thought about staying 2 more days to see the Cubs beat the Pirates.

We all got into the Skybox!

We were all rewarded with Penguin bags.

When we got up close to the Mario Mosaic, we were able to see the actual pictures that were used as pixels for the Mosaic image.  The Duffers have 5 pictures on the Mosaic.  They are pictured below along with the links to those pictures.
