The goalie disease begins.

Dan even gave him a few bruises on the arm and stomach
in hopes he would quit but no luck.

We Almost got 2 Full Lines!

Romeoville, IL
May 10, 2013

Attendance: 21

A thrilling Game to End the Season!
We had 21 paying Duffers, so we only lost about a hundred dollars.  (We need 26.25 players to break even) We  had to bring in Emily "Rudolph" Hawrysio to get us up to 21 players.  Emily is home for her summer break.  She is 2 years away from getting her doctorate in Veterinarian Science.  Emily became a favorite DOD a few years ago when she turned 21 and made her first legal purchase of alcohol to buy a case of beer for the Duffers.  We drank it and celebrated her birthday in the Bolingbrook rink parking lot.  The Rampage women started calling Emily Rudolph the red nosed reindeer when they called her dad Santa.

The Game

Tweedy Photo bombs the Anvils.

V-Man got the Whites on the board early when he beat the Anvil and stifled his urge to celebrate.  Tommy Z answered that goal a little later when he couldn't resist scoring on his kindergarten buddy Tweedy.  Greg Z gave the Whites a 2-1 lead when he beat the Anvil with a high hard one just as his wife and son walked into the rink.  The assist went to Brinks.  Tommy Z tied it again when he tossed a bad angle shot at Tweedy's skates.  It bounced off of his pads and made the score 2-2.  Tommy O gave Reds the lead when he tapped in a pass from TZ.  Jim "Rags" Ragland tied the game again with a blistering ice hugger that the Anvil could not see.  Brinks gave the Whites a 4-3 lead with one of the prettiest goals of the season.  The play was a thing of beauty that started with a pass from Greg Z to Beak on the left wing.  Beak saw Brinks breaking for the net, so he fired the puck toward the net where Brinks deflected it up onto the crossbar and into the net.  The Anvil did not have a chance.  That goal looked like it would be the game winner, but TZ tormented Tweedy by scoring his third goal of the game.  Thor scored to give the Whites the lead. Nick the prick scored on a break away to give the Whites a 6-4 lead.  Rags fired another one past the Anvil to make the final minutes tense, but the Whites hung on for a thrilling 6-5 win.

Memorable Moments:

  • We had a beautiful Redhead playing for the Reds.  The Anvil's Daughter is on Summer break.
  • V-Man made a sonic boom when he went feet first into the boards. The Czar had a couple of tumbles too.

  • We had 2 fans in the stands.
  • We almost had 2 full lines, thanks to Koss for taking a day off from work.
