We Had Three Full Lines!

Romeoville, IL March 21, 2014  Attendance: 25

Fast Game with Great Goal Tending!

Three full lines produced a fast paced game that challenged the goalies often.  We had some fast moving guests who had girl friends in the stands.  That always speeds things up.  There was even a mom and a wife cheering her boys on.  Tumbling Terry got things moving with a stretch pass off of the glass that sent V-Man

Duffer Number 4?  Must be Fred.

in all alone on the Anvil.  V-Man beat Eddie like a rented mule to give the Whites an early lead.  Nick DeJesus realized that his Dad was ticked off, so he answered with 2 quick goals to give the Reds a 2-1 lead.  T&A picked up an assist on Nick's 2nd goal.  Tommy Z fired a nice pass to Commander Ken who beat The Anvil to tie the game at 2 apiece.  Rags gave the Pale Shirts the lead when he took a pass from t&a and fired a low hard one past Eddie .  Chris Berserk got that goal back when he converted a pass from DeJesus to tie the game again.  Geno gave the Reds the lead when the Reds put on a passing clinic that started when Beak hit Geno as he was crossing the Blue line.  Geno fired a pass to Berserk that made the Brain slide over to cover the right post.  Chris returned the pass to Geno who buried it into the open net.  It looked like that would hold up to be the game winner, but Tommy Z set up Joe the III for the tying goal, then fired one past Eddie 10 seconds later to give the Whites a 5-4 lead late in the game.  It looked bad until Nick DeJesus set up Mini Wheezer for the tying goal.  The Whites looked like they scored a tie breaker when JOE III slid a slow shot toward Eddie who tried to fall on it, but he missed it.  The goal was disallowed because the puck went out of the zone  and was brought back in with 3 White guys offside.
Whites 5. Reds 5.  Geno had the only Meaningful goal to give the Reds a 1-0 win.

  • Memorable Moments:
  • t&a dumped his Dad on a faceoff.  His Dad let him live because he had a Cougar Cup Championship game on Saturday that they went on to win!  Way to go Tommy and Billy!
  • We had a pile up at the final buzzer where Brian lost his hat, but he managed to keep the puck out of the net and preserve the tie.
  • Duffer SOD, Ryan Dzingel, scored the winning goal for OSU to beat #1 Minnesota 3-1.
  • The Anvil gave V-Man got a good talking to for poking a puck in after the imaginary whistle blew.
