Hat Tricks for GM and TZ!

Romeoville, IL
January 17, 2014

Attendance: 21

GM? Gene Miller is "GM" AKA Thor
Last week, Tweedy helped the Reds snap their 6 game winless streak when he held the Whites to one goal.  This week he put on The Anvil's White Jersey and snapped the Reds one game winning streak.  Kevin "Meat" Rench got the Whites on the board in the first period when he pounced on a rebound and tapped it past the Anvil.  Thor added to The Anvil's misery when he got his stick on a blistering low shot from Rags and deflected it into the top twine.

Bill BTW and Rags help Thor remember his goals.

Meanwhile, the Reds were having problems solving Tweedy who was in a "Zone."  Tommy Z cranked on him every chance that he got without  scoreing.  It took Joe "Drago" Evans to finally spoil Tweedy's shutout.  It was a nice goal, except for one thing, Drago was wearing the same color jersey as Tweedy.  Magoo was credited with the Red goal just for standing near the net.  Thor scored again to give the Whites a 3-1 lead.  V-Man made it 4-1 shortly after that.  Tom "TO" O'Connor finally beat Tweedy with a legitimate goal when he one timed a rebound to make it Whites 4, Reds 2.  Terry made it 5-2 with a picture perfect goal that handcuffed Eddie.  TZ finally got one past Tweedy in the third period, so Beak told him that he needs a hat trick to tie the game.  No sooner were those words out of Beak's mouth, when Thor scored again to make it 6-3.  Tommy went out and scored 2 more goals on his next shift to match Thor's Hat Trick, but time ran out before the reds could match the White's 6 goals.  Final Score: Whites 6, Reds  5, .    Meaningful Score: Whites 3, Reds 2,

Memorable Moments:

  • Slippery roads made it look like we would have a 3 on 3 game, but we ended up with 2 lines and 2 goalies..  Fred was marked tardy, spoiling his perfect attendance bid.
  • Tweedy not only stoned Tommy many times, he also stopped his dear old Dad from scoring 4 times, he even stacked the pads to foil Beak's best chance.
  • Bill BTW let off some steam at Wild Wings when he lambasted Beak for "disrespecting" him by putting

his face on a dogs butt in Photoshop.  Beak told him that several women told

him that that dog had a cute butt.  That didn't help, so Beak made 2 respectful creations. See them below.

Tommy got 3, but we needed 4.

Greg

We had a fantastic weekend trip (a 7.5 hour flight from Anchorage) to Chicago. I brought Amber who is 12 years old and my stepdaughter Sydney who is also 12. They both play hockey here in Anchorage. This was their first NHL game ever. We watched the Hawks beat Anaheim on Friday night and then we went to the shootout game against the Bruins on Sunday afternoon. The United Center was rocking and the presentation of the off ice entertainment was fantastic as always. Amber and Sydney made the sign and were up on the fan cam in the third period of Sunday's game. Wish we would've had more time to maybe see you and spend some time with the other duffers but it was a quick trip.

Airline tickets $2500, Hawk stuff $1000, Hotel $700, Meals $400, Those smiles,  Priceless.

This is Bill on Sunday Morning before the Hawks won.  Then he had hopes for Tom Brady.  Oh well, you win none and lose 2.

Our Ann Arbor road trip is 5 weeks away, get your money in.

In 1979 I shoveled the snow off of my garage and we had a hill that reached up to the gutters, so we had a snow hill that gave us a lot of fun. That is my 12 year old daughter, Debbie, cheering on her brother Dan.

It looks like my pictures inspired these cartoons.  (Left) Tweedy and his sister Debbie in 1979.  (Below) 4 year old Tweedy makes ice in our back yard.
