	Waghorne Scores a Goal!


	Thursday, May 24, 2018. Wags Vs Rangers (Attendance 1) The first 9 minutes featured very fast action with Wags dominating play. Both goalies made great saves until Joe "JT" Tomasek fired a shot that the Ranger goalie could not control. Mike "M&M" Matker picked up the rebound and put it in to give Wags a 1-0 lead. That lead lasted less than 2 minutes when #77 beat Waghorne on a break away with 5:07 left in the period. The Rangers scored again at 1:51 to take a 2-1 lead going into period 2. The Rangers were out shot 13 to 8, but they had the lead. Two minutes into the period, Steve Gaul tied it up with an assist from Tom "t&a" Ambrosia. Two minutes later, Danny "Da Mayor" Emanuel scored on a pass from Joe Tomasek. The referee gave Dan an assist on his goal for passing

	to Joe. That 3-2 lead lasted until the Rangers tied it up with a goal with 3:55 left in the period. That goal woke up the struggling Wags attack so they scored 3 goals in the final 3 minutes to take a 6-3 lead into the 3rd period. JT Tomasek scored at 2:44 with an assist from Kevin "Smooth as" Glass. Justin "JV" Vanderee followed that goal when he scored with an assist from Steve Gaul at 1:36. Tom "t&a" Ambrosia added insult to injury by scoring with 23 seconds left in period 2. Tomasek picked up his 4th assist on that goal. The third period went back to great goal tending with only on goal by each team. The Rangers scored with 8 minutes left in the game and then it happened! Ed "The Wall" Waghorne scored with one second left in the game. How did he do that you may ask? With the clock ticking down, one of the goal starved Rangers took a clearing pass from Waghorne and fired it past his own goalie with one second left to play. Ed was credited with the goal since he was the last one to touch the puck. Wags had 3 forward lines with 2 centers once Coach Dan Lopatka showed up in the second period. He teamed up with Tom "Senior Citizen" Zagorski to form a veteran line that dominated several shifts with superb passing and cycling. Ed The Wall Waghorne made 21 saves. While the Ranger goalie made 43!
