Snowstorm Scared Away 15 Regulars!

At game time, the Whites had  5 skaters on the ice and one lonely sub on the bench.  The Reds had 2 subs.  The Alien soon arrived and dressed in time to give the Whites another much needed sub for the last 2 periods. Berserk tried to get there, but he was at O'Hare at 8, so he turned around and went back home. He had a Columbus check for Mike.  Magoo tried to get out of the loop at 4:30, but never made it.  The pace was slow, except for the teenagers who forced Tommy Z to crank up his game to Men's league speed.

Lil' Tommy got a chocolate treat for his 2 goals.

He taught those kids a thing or two, holding them to only 2 late goals.  Rags bailed out of a teen sleep over so that we could have a goalie.  Jimmy Bones made his second start thanks to the snow storm that kept the Anvil busy.  Eddie likes the overtime pay, but he likes it better when it snows on garbage day.  He loves to get his truck's speed up to just under Art's slap shot velocity so that he can bury the garbage cans with flying snow. The White scored early and often, leading all the way to a 7-5 win for Brian. Bill BTW had 2 goals ( 1 duck soup move around Rags & Jimmy Bones), V-Man had 2 while managing to get Mini Wheezer ticked off. TZ had 2 and the Meaningful Winner was scored by Klinger who took a bad angle shot that found the back of the net. The Reds managed 5 goals, but never had the lead. Rags had a nice rising shot from the point that the Brain never saw. Bookie and Crash Nance each had a goal.  Lil' Tommy Ambrosia scored two late goals.

Friday the 13th  keeps sending good luck
Mini got a free meal and Beak got his bill reduced to $4.75 for their French Dressing bath last week.  Mini Wheezer got shut out on his chocolate hunt. Lil' Tommy got the clean plate award on his desert plate.

There was CME talk in the kid's locker room
Brian told us to look for Aurora Borealis soon. Beak gave a quick Coronal Mass Ejection definition then told Brian that he is cut off from Duffer e-mails for complaining.  Brian asked Beak if he would keep his sister on the list.

The Bus Leaves for Columbus on March 8
The Duffers are going to Columbus March 8-11.  If you want to join us, give Mike a $100 deposit ASAP.

The trip will be very affordable. The price goes down with every seat we fill.

V-Man and Jimmy Bones have a quiet moment.

The Goalie Pimp didn't make it, but he made sure we had 2 goalies

  • Who broke the youngest Duffer goal record held by Tweedy since 1981?

  • When was Don Granato is named head coach of the Worcester Ice Cats?

Answers from last week

When and Where did Nick "Ball Pin Hammer" Hawrysio score his first goal? November 17, 2001 Nick scored his first Duffer goal when he beat his dad in The Peoria Civic Center in front of a sparse crowd of 5. Doc’s Daughter Becky, the Peoria Goalie’s Father, 2 window washers and Beer-Nuts.

When did Fruitcake's son Cupcake score his first goal? Ask Fred or go to the Duffer History page. (let me know because I forgot)

When did Tweedy score his first goal. Mother's Day 1981

Bonus question: Who did they score on? Stump

The Wags Hockey Team drafted Beak's grandson Jeff to add some youth to their aging team.  Jeff scored on a Blue Line slap shot and hit the post twice.  The 3 Duffer players accounted for 4 of their 6 goals, as Tommy Z and Tweedy also had Blue Line Slap Shot goals.  Tweedy scored another goal while playing defense. See picture below.

Tommy just smiles when Mini Wheezer grills him about the missing chocolate desert.  His Dad, T&A, and Jimmy Bones get a good laugh.
