one goal lead. The Rangers scored first just 56 seconds into the game. Newcomer, Ryan "Rough Rider" Rodriguez tied it 5 minutes later. A few minutes later, Duffer Star, Tommy Z scored to give Wags a 2-1 lead that lasted 33 seconds into the second period when the Rangers tied the game again. No assists were given on the Wags goals. Half way through the period, Uncle Dan Lopatka, another Duffer standout, scored an unassisted goal when we banged in a rebound to take a 3-2 lead. Somebody usually gets an assist on a rebound goal, but not with these referees. They declared 6 of the 8 Wags goals unassisted! That is hard to believe, because the passing was superb. The Rangers tied it again with 3:17 left in period 2. Kevin "smooth as" Glass took the ensuing faceoff and scored 10 seconds later. The Rangers tied it at 4-4 just before the period ended. The 3rd period started with Roadrunner Jay winning the faceoff back to Speed Racer Jeff (another Duffer) Jeff took the puck into the zone and wired a wrist shot into the top shelf. That only took 8 seconds! Ryan "Bara" Kuta gave Wags a 2 goal lead when he fired a bullet into the top of the net 5 minutes later. 33 seconds later, Dan "The Man" Lopatka cranked a slap shot into the net from the blue line to put give Wags a 7-4 lead. That shot went through a maze of players so the referee asked anyone touched it. Three guys raised their hand, so the goal was given to the guy with bright red pants. With 5:23 left to play, the Rangers made it interesting with an unassisted goal to cut the Wags lead to that dreaded 2 goal lead. Sixty one seconds later Speed Racer Jeff dashed the Ranger hopes when he blew a laser wrist shot past the hapless Ranger goalie to give Wags an 8-5 win. Jeff's big brother, Tattoo Mike, also a Duffer had a fine, but was best remembered for bring a case of root beer
