April 24, 2017. Wags Vs. Team Conquest
The fans were treated to a great playoff game. We had the stands packed with 7 fans.
General Manager Ed Waghorn, Grandpa Kuta, Grandpa Lopatka, Alec's Dad and sister, Mike Matker's Girl friend
and a guy with a bad wing. Grandpa Kuta said, "This is better that watching the Blackhawks!" He was right, as both teams were flying and shooting like crazy, but both goalies were perfect until late in the second period when
Tommy "Gramps" Zagorski. Tom was the oldest guy on the ice that night because
Dan Lopatka and Tony Letto were
not in the lineup. Tom got a pass

Kuta, (Score sheet said unassisted M&M Mike had a hand in the goal
too) then avoided a goalie poke check that sent him head first over the goalie's back as he tucked the puck in for the only Wags goal in regulation. That should have been the game winner but the referee gave Team Conquest a goal when
Alec made a save on a hard shot that went up and over his shoulder. The puck came to rest next to the post on the goal line.
Kevin "Smooth As" Glass went crashing into the post and drew a whistle as the net became dislodged. One referee said
" no goal", the blind guy said "goal" after showing Alec where the puck came to rest. He put it on the goal line. That tied the score with 21 seconds left to play in period 2.
A scoreless 3rd sent us to a shoot out where Alec stoned the first shooter. Mike "M&M" Matker scored to give Wags a lead. Alec stopped the second shooter setting up the game winning goal by
Jason "Bara" Kuta. He raced in and did a Kanner stop then went backhand high. You can view that goal on Youtube at:
