	Another Shoot Out!


	April 27, 2017. Wags Vs. Green Machine The fans were treated to another great playoff game. We had the stands packed with the usual fans, but General Manager Ed Waghorn was not in the stands because he was playing goalie! Ed had to strap on the pads when Alec and Old McDonald were unavailable. Ed had not played since his heart surgery. His 3 biggest fears going into the game were; 1, a hard shot to the chest, (That happened in the first period.) 2, Overtime, 3, Shoot out. Tommy "Gramps" Zagorski was no longer the senior citizen since Dan Lopatka and Tony Letto were there. Tommy set up the first goal when he set up Jack Iandoli's

	goal half way through the first period. Bob Bock tied the game with 3 minutes left in period one. The low scoring game vanished in the second period when the Green Machine scored 4 unanswered goals in 7 minutes to take a commanding 5-1 lead. Mike "M&M" Matker stopped the bleeding when he scored a goal that was assisted by Jack Iandoli with 4:45 left in the period. Ninety seconds later, Killer Kyle Sandowski scored on a pass from Matt "The Swatter" Swastek. Jason "Bara"Kuta made it 5-4 in the final seconds when he scored on a pass from Jack I. Green Machine made it 6-4 early in the 3rd period, but Bara Kuta and Killer Kyle teamed up to answer that goal at the 11:44 mark. It looked like the Green Machine put the game away when they scored at 8:30 to make it 7-5, but Tommy Z cranked a slap shot that popped right to Matt "The Swatter" Swastek who swatted it in with 3:57 left to play. Jack I-man set up the tying goal with a beautiful behind the back pass to Kuta who buried it in the top shelf for a 7-7 tie. We played a scoreless 4 on 4 for 5 minutes with great saves by both goalies. The Green Machine won the championship in a shoot out.

Wags was down 2 with 4 minutes to play.	My oldest son Ken got an assist on my goal on Friday.
