June 17, MLB Vs. Wags at Center Ice
Tony Letto started the scoring just 39 seconds into the game when
Jay Demaria sprung him for a clean break away. MLB tied it 5 minutes later.
Pat Cleary gave Wags the lead again 2 minutes later when he converted a pass from
Kevin Glass with 8:57 left in period 1. That lead only lasted 30 seconds as MLB scored 3 unanswered goals in the next 4 minutes, to put them up 4-2. Jay Demaria cut it to 4-3 with 3:02 left in the first period. That was the start of 5 unanswered Wags goals. Jay scored at 10:45 (assist Cleary), 9:05 (assist Lopatka and Letto), and 5:04 (assist Glass), to send the MBL team into a panic mode. Tony scored on a nice pass from Jay to give Wags a 7-4 lead with 1:31 left in the period. MLB scored

with 7 seconds left in the 2nd period to cut the lead to 2. Tony picked up his hat trick in the first minute of the 3rd period when he stole the puck, walked around 2 defenders then slipped under another
before roofing a shot into the top of the net for an unassisted goal. Glass scored a minute later and Cleary added his second goal 50 seconds later. All 3 goals were unassisted! It looked like it was over, but MLB put 3 goals up on the board in the next 2 minutes to make it 10-8. Jay put the game away with an unassisted goal with 4:40 left to play. 4 unassisted goals in a row suggests that the score keeper got writers cramp in the 3rd period.
