#283 DUFFER NEWS
|
September 21st The game started
with meaningless goals by Beak Jr. and Joe Jr. that gave the Blues an early
lead. The Whites got on the board when Beavis Cough-n-hour grabbed a Brinks
rebound and passed to Beak who beat his son Tweedy with a flip shot into
the top shelf. Hitman got that one back to tie the meaningful contest
and then added another to give the Blues a 2-1 lead. Beavis has become
Beak's best friend. Last week he bounced a goal off of Beaks skate.
This week he fired a waist high slap shot that Beak managed to get the
shaft of his stick on. The puck eluded Tweedy to Tie the Meaningful
contest at 2-2. Hitman gave the Blues the lead again with his third
goal of the game.
Remember, all games start at
8:00!

A message from Jimmy Buffett as he canceled three concerts.
To all our fans I would simply say do what you can in this serious and tragic hour, from donating blood to talking to your children. Lord Buckley, the great old hip comedian, once said, “Terror is the absence of humor, and humor is the absence of terror.”Our sense of humor is one of our most precious natural resources as Americans, and we will put this tragedy behind us and dance again. And when we do, Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer band will be there to lead the parade. Until then, keep your fins up and God Bless America. Jimmy Buffett Chicago, Illinois September 12, 2001 The picture above came from the wonderful site that was sent to me by Peoria Rod and Hacksaw.
