Reds Couldn't Solve the Brain!

Romeoville, IL January 30, 2015  Attendance: 24
3 Meaningful Goals!
Cowboy Joe Mazzarella had 2 meaningful goals for the Whites in the first period.  His 2nd one came just before the period ended when the Anvil made several saves on rebounds while he was flat on his back, but he couldn't stop the tap in that was floating 3 feet over Eddie's body.  Beak told his grandson Jeff  that he should score and get us back in the game so he did and spoiled the Brain's shutout.  T&A followed that up with a nice goal that ended a string of 10 unsuccessful shots on Brian in the first period.  The Anvil had a great second period while shutting out the Whites, so the game was tied 2-2 going into the third period.  The Commander came the closest to denting the net for the Whites, but he nailed

2 Meaningful goals for Joe and Magoo had a lot of sweat.

the post with a shot that made that sound that all goalies love.  Tommy Z broke the tie while the Brain was shutting out the Reds for the rest of the game.  T&A's son, t&a scored late in the third period to give the Whites a 4-2 meaningless win and a 2-1 Meaningful win.  Tommy is a great SOD and he usually tries not to score, but he found a rebound sitting on the goal line after the Anvil made a great save, so he tapped it in and skated away and looked ashamed.
Memorable Moments:

We had a great turn out at Wild Wings. where Joe the 3rd unveiled his new Duffer Tattoo.
The Senior locker room had a bag of donuts thanks to Renee.  We had a bag of Strohs thanks to V-man who didn't even play. (His wife made plans) He protested, "I'm the beer guy, I can't miss hockey."  He did the wise thing and delivered the beer bag to Beak's house and was named MVP.  That 30 pack is down to 5 cans, so I need a volunteer for Friday. Beak's Great Granddaughter fell asleep in the booth at Wild Wings.  Her uncle Jeff carried her out.  That continues a family tradition.  Tweedy, Mike and Jeff all learned to sleep in bars and restaurants while the Duffers closed the place.  Carm's Dad used to sleep on the beer cases at the Saint's Spectrum Bar.

Perfect attendance: Bill BTW and Fruitcake Fred. still have Perfect Attendance:

Detroit Trip Details:  Brinks had to drop out for medical reasons, so we added Rob Zivalich to take his place. 35 tickets are Sold Out We have one for The Czar or the Anvil if they decide to go .
