Anvil Hammers the Whites!

Romeoville, IL February 27, 2015  Attendance: 28

The Anvil Never Sobered Up!!
Monet Mike Lopatka got the Reds off and rolling when he fired a wicked wrister off of the left post and into the Net.  The Brain never had a chance.  Mike's business partner, Bill "The Piercer" Barron, tied the game when he flipped a shot over Eddie who was flat on his back and out of moves.  Geno hit a post with a shot that went out, but he followed that with a blast that went straight in.  Our wayward son, Greg Zerkus tied the game when he beat the Anvil on the stick side.  Greg has been missing so that he could build up "Road Trip Points" with his wife.  We never saw him after he told her that he gave Beak a "C" note f

or a road trip.  To his credit, he did buy us beer while he was gone.  Chris Berserk had a crash that had his legs all bruised and bent.  We were afraid that he would never walk again as he had trouble getting up.  As soon as the Brain started feeling sorry for him, Chris broke the 2-2 tie with a fire ball goal with a minimal celebration.  Red Pants Ryan  gave the Reds a 2 goal lead when he snuck one past Brian.  T&A got the Whites back in the game when he scored on a clean break-away where he put 6 of his best moves on Ed until he got him to lay down. (or is it lie down) Once The Anvil went down, T&A gave the puck a shot of Viagra and it went  up and over Ed for a goal. The Anvil felt violated. That was it for the Whites as The Anvil never sobered up and he continued to stone the Whites.  Berserk had a crash that puts him in the lead for the Klinger Krash award.  (If he didn't win it already) Chris was going full speed when he tripped (or was tripped) dropped to his knees and went sliding face first into the boards.  Only his cage prevented him from having the best face plant since Joe Evans planted his face on the ice as he dropped the puck for us in Nashville.  Again, we thought Berserk would go to the locker room for a shot of Crown, but he made a coast to coast rush then fired a shot from an impossible angle that somehow wormed it's way past the Brain who was hugging the post like a good looking step sister.

After that goal, Tom "TO" O'Connor, Monet Mike and Joe Mazzerella IV scored to give the Reds a 7-3 win and a 2-1 meaningful win.  Tilted Kilt is at 1055 South Weber Road

Greg and the Czar can't decide.

Our week started with our Duffer lunch at the Tilted Kilt.  Ania was back from Denver.

Jerada suggested that we call the manager in Romeoville and get a Duffer deal for our Friday night visits.

It worked, the manager gave us a Duffer discount of 20%.

They had a table for 22 set up for us.

I had the best birthday party ever. A jumbo Hot dog with a beer and all of my loved ones singing Happy Birthday!  I got a baseball autographed by all of my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Birthday cards made by the kids are the greatest.

Looking at the image that my great granddaughter Carmela has of me, I better go to the weight room and start pumping iron.

My 18 year old brother Herb gave me a cool birthday card for my 15th birthday. I was impressed when I read the code on the back that showed that he paid 25 cents for my card. You could get a fine card for a nickel. (My Mom always checked to see how much you spent on the card before she even read the card. If it was more than a dime, she would say, "Why did you spend so much for my card.") A few weeks later when his birthday arrived, I felt obligated to buy him a nice card, but a quarter was out of my budget. You could buy 5 cokes for a quarter. So I just scratched his name off and signed the card and gave it to him. A year later, he did the same thing to me and we have been doing that every year for 60 years.
