2014-15 Duffer Schedule

Here is a link to all 40 past Duffer Road Trips. Duffer road trips

(Back Row Left to Right) Steve A, Doc, Barron, Drago, Thor, Cowboy Joe, Speed Racer Jeff, Joe Mazz 3, Beevis Tom Morgan, Ted Hack, Berserk, Beak, Buckshot Bob Morgan, Rob Brill, Greg Z, Monet Mike, The King, John Koss, Harvey, Butt Head Jim Coughenhaur.

(Front Row) Steve Wads, Mini Wheezer, T&A, Joe Ambrosia, Grandpa Ken, Tony Granato, Tommy Z, Coach Jim Hiller, Vidas Formica, Johnny B, Rob Z, Rough Rider Ryan and Klinger.

We had a great time in the Joe.  Tony played for the Reds and Redwing coach Andrew Brewer played for the Whites.  We met Tomas Holmstrom before the game and Power Play coach Jim Hiller got in the team picture.  When Tommy Z mentioned coach Reggie Dunlap from Slap Shot, Coach Hiller quickly quoted Paul Newman saying, "We're working on it."

On Saturday, we played an afternoon game then went to Ann Arbor to watch the USA U-17 team play Waterloo with Donny Granato.  Donny brought his U-18 team to the Edge in Bensenville for a game with the Steel on Saturday March 14th. He had 9 Duffers there cheering for him.

Drago's Hockey Lessons

We visited Brian just in time.

He was released from Marianjoy for outpatient therapy

Get Well Brian!

Please pass along a sincere thank you to all of the Duffers on behalf of myself and Dylan for their generosity toward the Hornets Sled Hockey program.  Dylan was able to donate $175 due to the Duffers generosity.  The event raised over $6,000 for this team which is 100% funded by donations.

Duffer News

We had 3 Lines with 4 Guests!

Romeoville, IL April 3, 2015  Attendance: 26

Reds 4 and the Whites 9
The Whites had a slight age advantage when Lil' Bill and t&a put on the white jerseys.  O'Connor's guests, Matt and Tyler, also were given White jerseys, so the Reds spent a lot of time trying to get out of their zone.  The Ambrosia's put a family line together With T&A had his brother Joe and son Thomas playing together for the first time.  Joe made his Hockey début in Detroit.  Tommy Z got the Reds on the board when he flipped one past teenage goalie, Matt the Hammer.  Matt's dad got that goal back when he scored on Bill Barron.  He was set up by T&A and t&a.  TZ

The Brain is Home

scored again to give the Reds hope, but Lil'Bill Conti set up the Hammer for a tap in and his second goal.  Len Edling, guest of T&A, tipped in a pass from Lil" Bill to give the Whites a lead that they would not relinquish.  Billy Conti then scored to put the Whites up 4-2.  Tz scored again to cut into the lead, but T&A and his son t&a each scored a pair and the rout was on.  Tom O'Connor scored for the Reds, but John, "Cupcake" Bobka capped off the scoring to give the Whites an 9-4 win.  Matt made some nice saves all night long flopping around the crease.  Barron had to make 82 saves.  He has a stand up goalie style, that reminds us old timers of Ken Dryden.

Medical Reports:

  • Brinks was back out golfing last week.
  • The Brain was released from Marianjoy.  He will have outpatient therapy.
  • Mrs. Presecky is back home after a short stay at Edwards Hospital.
Memorable Moments:
  • We celebrated Ryan Kroll's 9th birthday at Midnight. We had to wake him up at Midnight.
  • Thanks to Matt and Bill Barron for filling in for The Anvil and the Brain.
  • The Ambrosia line made their first appearance with Joe, Tom and Thomas.
Wanted, Male Models on May 1st:

We want to get a group picture on May 1st at the Kilt with all of our Duffer Road Trip apparel.  The Czar volunteered

to where the Toronto shirt and Tommy said that he will bring his San Jose Shark tank shirt.  I need volunteers who can bring any of the many shirts.

Happy Birthday Ryan.

We visited Brian on Duffer Lunch Day.

He was in good sprits and looking good.

T&A and I headed over to the Kilt to have lunch with Frank and Kliger. My new camera has found a way to catch Franks eyes.

Ania was back from Denver to take care of us.  To avoid questions, I made my sure that my hands were visible.

(Above) The Ambrosias accounted for 4 of the goals for the White team.  Brother Joe had to leave the game early to go to work.

(Right) Here is a sure way to get your goals immortalized in the Duffer News.  Show up at the Kilt and give Beak some fingers.

A thumb pointing up counts for 3 goals

Ken tells his son Ryan that he will be 9 years old in 10 minutes

He almost finished a big meal and is starting to fade fast.

He is out!

He had a rough night recording 13 goals on the scoreboard.

The teenagers are hanging in there.

Wake up! It's your birthday!

Happy Birthday Ryan!

He looked better when he was 8 years old.

Lynn brought him a birthday treat!

This is the picture that inspired our Male Model Night at the Tilted Kilt.  Let me know what shirt that you can bring on May 1st.
