Barczynski Scores His First!

Romeoville, IL March 11, 2016  Attendance: 24

The Game:
Reds couldn't beat the Barron, even when they made a mid game acquisition of Tommy Z.  Barron was stopping everything while the Whites jumped off to a 3-0 lead with goals by Berserk, V-Man and Rags.  Monet Mike scored the first goal for the Reds, but Berserk and V-Man scored again to put the Whites up 5-1.  Tommy Z decided it was time to even the sides a little.. The Anvil was playing pretty well for a blind Goalie.  (He was blaming his glasses for making him go blind)  Beak  told him, "Social security makes you go blind. My Dad used to call it Social Disease."  TZ asked for a volunteer to put on a White Jersey and got a lot of blank stares.

Donny Saved Klinger $25

That didn't deter him, he just put on a Red Sweater and Bumped the Hammer over to left wing.  That move produced instant success as Cup Cake had a great backhand redirect of a pass from Mini Wheezer.  Just a minute later, Stump's son Kyle scored his first Duffer Goal and the Reds were back in the game, but Barron prevented any comeback and he picked up the 6-4 win.  Here is T&A's Game summary: White: 6 & Reds: 4
White Goals: - Berserk had 2, assists to T&A and the Czar. V man had 2, assists to Terry and Bezerk, Rag's had 1 with an assist to Tommy Z before his trade to the Reds. Drago had 1 with an assist to Berserk

Red Goals: - Kyle put in Cupcake's rebound, Cupcake scored on a great pass from Mini Wheezer, Monet Mike  had a first period goal with a shot thru Bear's five hole and The Hammer scored on a sweet pass from Tommy Z. Only a great Duffer like Tommy Z could get assists playing for both sides.

The USA U-17 Team Gave the Steel all they could handle

Donny's U-17 USA team lost 2-1 Saturday night to the 19-20 year olds of the Chicago Steel. The 6th shot of the shoot out was the game winner.  We had a nice turnout from the Duffers.  Klinger just put a $50 bill on the ticket window when Beak got a call from Donny informing him that he had tickets for us.  Thanks Donny, You saved Klinger 24 Bucks!  Greg Z saved Wheezer from getting a facelift when he made a bare hand grab of a puck that was heading for the big guy's mug.  (See the picture below)

We May Have to Chang our Team Motto

"We are a Hockey Team with a Drinking Problem." Our favorite waitress was back Friday night, but she was disappointed  when only 3 Duffers were sober enough to drive to the Kilt.

She gave us our Duffer Discount with out being reminded.
I will not be there next week, V-man will bring Beer for the "younger" locker room. I need someone to send me a report of the game if you want a Duffer News.  I will break my perfect attendance to go to Arizona with my sister eh!

Peoria Road Trip

Ben Oskroba is now the captain for the Peoria Rivermen. We are planning a one or 2 night road trip to see Ben and Uncle Bob on April 8-9.  Duffers do not have ice on that Friday.  Commander Ken, Steve Hammer, Klinger, Mini Wheezer, Tommy Z and Tweedy will be going.  Let me know if you want to join us.  The Piere Marquette Hotel is now owned by Marriott.  Our Detroit Kim can get us a deal there.

Donny was happy to see all of the Duffers that showed up.

We thanked him for helping us have the cheapest road trip ever.

Look out! Here comes the puck.

Greg Z make the save of the game.
