Great Turnout for the Finale!

Romeoville, IL May 12, 2017  Attendance: 26
We had a wonderful season ending game with 8 Father-Sons, one Father-Daughter, two Grandfather-Grandsons and one Great Grandfather with 2 Great Grand Children referees. Six of those "kids" played and helped us get to the elusive 3 lines!  The Anvil had more SODs than the Whites so he ended the 46th season with a stress free win.  The Whites needed Dylan or Jeff to neutralize the Red's SOD Studs, (Matt "The Nail" Hamerquest and Nick "DeJesus" Hawrysio)  because the White SODs had an average age of 35 and 2 artificial knees. The Reds jumped off to an early lead

We had 26 players plus 5 Referees for the team picture.   

with goals by Matt "The Nail" and Nick "DeJesus" who got a haircut and lost his Jesus look to the Barber's floor. Greg "DeGuest" made it 3-0 when he fired a one timer past Barron "The Bear" Williams who face more rubber than a dead skunk on I-55. Chris "Berserk" scored and gave the Whites hope, but Steve The Hammer scored on a pass from his son "The Nail".  Greg Z scored on an assist from Berserk to make it 4-2, but Brian "Fuzzy" Stewart and Tom "TO" O'Connor made it 6-2 to dampen any Great White Hopes.  Anthony "The Bookie" Antonini was wearing Beak's Red #99 jersey for the second straight week  and scored a goal for the second straight week.  Berserk scored again with an assist from Zerkis, but Tom "T&A" Ambrosia scored to make the final score .  Reds 8, Whites 3.

Ford to add 800 jobs in Lavonia Michigan

Executives at Ford Motor Company selected Lavonia Michigan for their new plant after searching the globe for an optimum location.  A Ford insider leaked information that they noticed that the prestigious Duffers Hockey Team stayed at the Lavonia Marriott in 2015 and 2016 and spent a lot of money. They decided that Lavonia must be the place to build. 

3 SODs, 1 DOD, 3 GODs and 2 GGODs all wearing "Lopatka" on their jerseys.

Ken is the only Duffer SOD that is a grandpa

Nick needs a new nickname since he lost his Jesus hair

Lennie is a SOD, GOD and GGOD. Carmela is a DOD, GOD and GGOD

The Bear faced a lot of rubber and his son Chris never stopped talking in the locker room.

Fred made John have his picture taken.

Mrs. Anvil baked us a big Duffer Cookie
