Welcome to

We do not have 2 lines for our Road trip to Madison on January 26-29, 2018

I need 10 more guys and a goalie to have a Duffer game. We are thinking of cutting the trip to a 3 day event.  Let me know now if you can join us for a car/van Road trip.

Next Game is November 17, 2017

3 Lines, 15 Goals, 2 Tattoos!

Romeoville, IL October 20, 2017  Attendance: 25
Vidas "Foemica" Cermarka flew in from Seattle to play a Duffer game and get a Duffer Tattoo form our resident artist, Monet Mike Lopatka. He went back to Seattle with a beautiful Duffer Bear on his arm. We had 3 full lines for our final October game and that produced a faster than usual Duffer game that had the lead changing hands several times. The outcome was not determined until the final minute.  The first 2 periods featured robust scoring by both teams that resulted in a 6-6 tie going into the final stanza. The speed and scoring slowed down in the final period with one goal by each team until the outcome was decided in the final minutes.   Rob Z got the scoring going in the 1st for the Red team with a break away goal.  The Anvil was happy to have his son Nick DeJesus who scored 3 goals for the Reds. Steve the Hammer Hammerquest was credited with a goal when T&A banked a shot off of his butt and past the Bear.  Barron "The Bear" William had a fine game stoning Monet Mike and Brian many times. Beak helped The Bear by taking a slap shot from his grandson

Vidas Formica got a Duffer Tattoo.

Mike in the back of the calf.  He also tipped a blast and slowed it down for an easy save.  The Anvil and Bear made many great saves.  Mini Wheezer had a nice goal that was set up by DeJesus after he had a funny fall that appeared to be caused by the Blue Line.

Red Goals: - Hat trick for Nick DeJesus, solo goals by Mini Wheezer (assisted by Nick), The Hammer (assisted by T&A), V-Man, & T&A (assist by Mini Wheezer)

White Goals: - Rags had 2 slap shot goals from the point, Jimmy Bones had 2 tap ins, Greg Z tipped in a blast by Bill BTW, Sean (Jimmy Bones guest) poked in a rebound and Berserk fired a laser past the Anvil.

It was good to have T&A there to do the accounting.

Memorable moments:
Mini Wheezer
did a belly flop as he tripped over the blue line.

The Whites beat Reds in hitting the post.  #7 Anthony Young Bookie rang one

up that made the most noise. Berserk, Greg Z and GI Joe hit posts too.  Birdman Dan and Beak hit

the post for the Reds.

Brian had a new work of art on his arm.

Madison Road Trip January 26-28

We only have 13 guys who said that they would go on the trip, so a bus rider numbers are not what we need to make it affordable. We will do a car pool/van trip like we did in 2015 when we played in the Joe Louis Arena. Tony G is busier than a one armed wallpaper hanger and is having trouble getting ice at the Kohl Center on Thursday, so we may cut the trip from 4 days to 3 days so that we can get enough guys to have a Duffer Game off campus.  We would get ice for 2 Duffer games on Friday January 26 and Saturday January 27. University of Wisconsin rules prevent us from playing on their ice on game days. Lou was planning to bring his son and daughter in from Canada, but he needs shoulder surgery and had to bail out.

If we can't get more skaters, we will just do a Badger game week end without playing. We did that last year and had a lot of fun.  They are fun to watch.  Two Aurora kids scored their first college goals last Saturday. Sean Dhooghy and his brother Jason are freshmen. Sean played with Donny in the USA development program.  He is 5'3" and tips the scale at 139. His big brother Jason is 5 inches taller and 2 pounds heavier.

My grandson Mike tattooed my calf with a slap shot.

Saturday Morning, he tattooed Vidas.

This Tattoo belongs to Joe "Olgie" Mazzarella

Monet Mike gave Brian Stewart this work of art.

Harvey and Boris joined us for lunch.

Our favorite waitress took good care of us.

September 1; Muzzy passed away. He gave us more laughs than any other Duffer.

He was born on May 20, 1935.  My son Dan was born on his birthday in 1970.

We shared a lot of Muzzy pictures in the last Newsletter.

This was 1997 when we brought up Robby Granato to give the Bombers 2 Illinois ringers.  We filled most of the coach seats and avoided a fun tax.  This is the year that Muzzy shocked Hayward church goers when he came out of the church and boarded the bus with toilet paper streaming out of his pants. Read More....
