Welcome to

Thanks to Donny Granato, we had 25 Duffers at the United Center to celebrate Frank's 80th birthday. Ryan Dzingel took my grandson Luke on the ice during the Ottawa practice.

We watched the Blackhawks and Senators practice, then we celebrated Frank's 80th birthday at the Kilt. I was able to get Coach Donny Granatoa and lot of Duffers to sign the get well card for Steve Mazzarella.  Steve is home now. If you want to add your name to the card, (Pictured below) I will have it at the Vault restaurant on Wednesday March 14 at 1:00 before giving it to his brother Joe who will deliver it for us.

Next Duffer Game is

Magoo Landry Scores!

Romeoville, IL March 9, 2018  Attendance: 26
Rumor has it that high scoring Greg "Z-Man" Zerkis was poisoned by the Reds so that he would miss the game.  That strategy worked as the Whites' scoring dropped below average. Thanks to Barron the Bear for playing goalie with a bad ankle that he hurt last Sunday while playing in a beer league game. T&A set up the first goal when he crashed the net but the Bear foiled his shot with a great save. The rebound went right to Monet Mike who had an easy tap in goal. T&A got an assist on Tom "Big Buff" O'Connor's goal on their next shift.  Bill BTW made it a 3-0 lead when he fired a shot past the Bear. Birdman Dan, who was sent to the Whites in a pre game salary dump move, scored a goal for the Whites to make it a 3-1 game, but Monet Mike scored his second goal to give the momentum back to the Reds. Nick "DeJesus" Hawrysio  decide it was time to

Landry  takes a bow.

get the Whites back into the game so he made a full speed rush at his Dad that was foiled when the Anvil lived up to his name and threw a cross body block at Nick and sent him flying.  Nick was determined to score on his 61 year old Dad, so he started cranking 100 mph slap shots.  He hit the glass several times and even got the post, but he never scored. Beak told him to quit blasting dangerous shots because most of the Duffers have to go to work in the morning. Nick told Beak that he was aiming at his Dad's head with his slap shots*.  Nick finally scored when he sent a knee high slap shot at Brian Stewart's leg. Brian moved just in time to have the puck miss his knee and hit the net.  The Reds answered that goal when Beak came off the bench on a line change just in time to keep a clearing pass in the zone. He sent a pass to T&A who walked in from the corner and tucked it into the net for a 5-2 Red lead.  Nick blew another slap shop past his dad, but Bill BTW answered  that with his second goal. We have to ban Nick from playing on the White team because when  he is on his Dad's team, he plays the "Duffer Way".

* Note to the Anvil, remove Nick from your last Will and testament and you will live longer.

John Magoo Landry scored a late goal and added to the rebirth of a cartoon character that has been forgotten in recent years until President Trump called Jeff Sessions Mr. Magoo. After a long hiatus, on Wednesday night

Magoo made a surprise return to pop culture, his name bouncing around cable news and trending on Twitter -- all thanks to White House intrigue.    Go to Page 2

John got called Magoo years before Trump gave Jeff Sessions that Name

Page 2

That sent young reporters to Google Mr. Magoo to dig up cartoon clips of the character that was created by 3 disgruntled Disney artiest who were tired of drawing talking animals.  They created Quincy Magoo (or simply Mr.Magoo) who is a cartoon character created at the UPA animation studio in 1949. Voiced by Jim Backus, Mr.Magoo is a wealthy, short-statured retiree who gets into a series of comical situations as a result of his extreme near-sightedness, compounded by his stubborn refusal to admit the problem.
And when the creators sat down to write Magoo, they were not afraid to use the character's single-minded ophthalmological arrogance as a link to Republican Sen. Joseph McCarthy (Wis.) and the fevered hunt for Communists in Hollywood and Washington. The original Magoo -- rich, resentful of the youth, pro-business and functionally blind -- was a riff on the myopic conservatism of 1950s America, a culture gripped by the anti-Communist crusade of Republican Sen. Joseph McCarthy (Wis.).
Memorable Moments:
Beak and Brian still have Perfect attendance at the rink and at the bar.

While looking through our collection of photoshop gems, I came across a copy of an account of a  Duffer road trip to Dubuque that was created on a typewriter by Tom "Butt-Head" Morgan. Make sure you read the account of the 3 legged dog that chased the Alien back to the lodge.

He was born on May 20, 1935.  My son Dan was born on his birthday in 1970.

We shared a lot of Muzzy pictures in the last Newsletter.

This was 1997 when we brought up Robby Granato to give the Bombers 2 Illinois ringers.  We filled most of the coach seats and avoided a fun tax.  This is the year that Muzzy shocked Hayward church goers when he came out of the church and boarded the bus with toilet paper streaming out of his pants. Read More....
